Island Flavors Unleashed: A Pescatarian’s Delight at Aulani’s Enchanting Luau

Alani a Disney Resort in Hawaii is not what you think at least it wasn’t what I expected sure it had beautiful design and impeccable Hospitality but the focus wasn’t on Mickey but rather the beauty of Hawaii and the culture of her people and the Lu out was a perfect example of that this is not the first luau on this.

Channel but it is the best here’s why we attended the kawaa Lua at Alani with preferred seating excuse me sir yes are you preferred I at well my Thum I’m in a choir today here we go preferred seating checkin preferred guests enter the Haley Y lawn a bit.

Early and our assigned tables in the front what did you get I don’t know because it’s just Maui’s one it’s Maui’s hook all the kids get Maui’s hook very cool oh it’s it’s de’s hand size I think things are happening but we have to go down to the.

End of the line you’re handed a welcome drink and shown to your seat the incredible dancers and musicians welcome you we are so excited to share with you the wonderful stories of our people that’s so cute but before the buffet opens you can visit the various.

Stations to learn about Hawaiian Traditions that’s the point so you guys are going to have some PO for dinner tonight you guys can give it a shot you have to or you actually eat you don’t have to but you should this one but you can maybe this one will be better cuz you made it with love yeah exactly.

Exactly but please don’t eat the one on the board all the other kids been touching it Ro of the tarot plan we take all the skin off cook it and mash it up just like you guys are doing okay and try to get it really smooshed two hands you use two hands there you go that’s.

Better have you ever had por before it’s gross it’s not gross you come back minutes might what did you say here he comes what did you do today I feel safer the pool yeah you think I need one yeah Mom yeah we go to the.

Now thank you so much everybody my hoola sisters and I would like to teach you a hoola noo or a seated hoola now you don’t have to stand up you don’t have to go anywhere all you have to do is follow along with see the flowers so bright and fair.

Then we were officially welcomed to dinner Al Al our family is gluten-free dairyfree and pescatarian so we’ll show you how we got safe foods for our diets the manager talked to me through the entire Buffet.

Walked through the different elements that work for us there’s some salad elements there is a lomy Lomi salmon there is a tuna poke um so those sort of Colder things are going to work fine the fish the way it’s prepared has gluten and dairy so they’re actually going to bring us fish from the back that’s plain um there’s.

Also stir fry veggies that work all the soy sauce that they use is tamari so it’s gluten-free so we’re able to nav around that and as far as dessert goes obviously we can have the fruit but they’re also going to bring us gluten-free vegan brownies as a dessert um normally for the kids they do Bento boxes but I said we’ll just walk the.

Line with them it’s not a big deal um since we’re all pretty much going to be getting the same thing every anyway and beverages are included with a basic open bar if you have Celiac or a food allergy we encourage you to discuss it with the staff to make sure the protocols are safe for you we were only comfortable getting these off the buffet because.

With our preferred seats we were some of the first guests at the buffet so there was less risk of cross-contaminated serving utensils which is the better one this one which one the Tuna the Tuna po yeah Asher’s not lying between the Lomi salmon is good the tuna poke is.

Really good I would just eat pounds of that it can never be said that they overcooked these veggies cuz they have quite a bit of crunch to it they’re borderline CR and they called them stir fry veggies but playing it fast and loose with the term stir fry generally speaking the food is fresh although we were some of the first.

People on the buffet to get it um so you know not quite Wedding Banquet food um but I like that we’re getting a taste them TR Hawaiian flavors and as we ate there was more entertainment leading up to the Big Show they brought us uh freshly grilled fish from the back it was mahi mahi with just a little bit of oil a little bit of.

Salt really tasty and um Nora is now going up for thirds so she is about to knock out her third plate of rice and tomato tomatoes and fruit so she is eating her entire weight in rice the performance began with the cast teaching us the Alani hoola with a couple of sweet special guests they know.

The so sweet can I hear a there we go aloha aloha then we heard an oral history filled with stories and legends of the Hawaiian people.

there were different tools objects to learn about and we practiced some Hawaiian words.

Then we heard a story of Maui it was a mighty lassle that Maui used in that epic battle with the sun her large beautiful pieces of Papa needed more time to dry in the sun’s hot Rays so Maui climbed up and he waited all night for the sun to rise.

everything was presented with such power and skill and we were honored to share in their traditions and we loved chatting with the cast afterwards as really wanted to I like the sht it looks really nice two cheese very cold if you’re considering the luow at Alani it’s an excellent learning.

Opportunity for children and adults that will give your Hawaii trip so much more meaning and if you’re looking for more info on gluten-free food at Alani stay tuned for all the delicious things in our next video my Hollow Travelers see you next time
