Avocado Bun: The Ultimate Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free Bread Alternative!
Hi everyone I am just going to make my version of a bun for a portabella mushroom burger that I’m going to have I’m allergic to gluten I’m allergic to Dairy what am I not allergic to I don’t know so I’m going to show you how I make a gluten-free bun that’s hide protein if you’re counting calories this probably isn’t a good option for you as.
A bun alternative but if not this is delicious and it works as a great bun alternative especially if you’re trying to stay away from um from gluten okay so I take a avocado and I just mashed it up I’m adding some Dia dairyfree mozzarella this one is made out of oat cream it has very few ingredients in it.
So um I prefer that I put a whole bunch in there and I mash it on up I mix it on up and I try to make it as smooth as I can and then what I’m going to do is I’m going to crack one egg these are from a friend of ours farm so it’s healthier than I think what you can get in the store if you can find someone who has their their own little.
Chicken Co Some people prefer an egg alternative I always prefer something natural if you’re going to do it okay so once I mix that all up I’m going to add in just my favorite spices whoops I think I found a an eggshell that would have been a nice surprise okay okay so I mixed that up I’m going to add my own favorite spices I don’t like to tell.
People what to use for spices because for each person it’s their own preference I do like to add just a tiny bit of cayenne pepper to add a little extra flavor and kick to it I use Celtic salt I don’t use regular salt and I use very little because especially with avocado if I can get it to come out here.
Come on come along just a little bit here just to bring out the flavor of the avocado and then some pepper lots of pepper I love pepper okay so that’s all set mix it up one more time and then I’m going to put it on a baking sheet and I laid it with um lined it with some wax paper because less sticking and I put a little avocado.
Spray on it and I’m just going to and I’ll show you this in a second maybe I can move it over no not happening okay I will spread some out over here so you can see it you want to shape them like a bun and I think the cheese and the eggs really bind the avocado together I think.
If I had two avocados it would have been a lot easier and I would have had a little bit more but I only had a really small avocado and I try to use whatever I have in the fridge because I’m on a budget but it looks like I’m going to be able to make two good size buns out of this and you’re going to preheat your oven to.
425 and when the timer goes off then you’re going to go in and just put it in and everyone’s oven is different but I think the you’re going to know when it’s actually done so I don’t have to tell you but typically it takes about 10 to 15 minutes for these buns to get done so I’m going to put those in the oven and I will let you see what they look like in.
Just a moment I just pulled my avocado buns out of the oven and look see it looks solid see and there’s the other one and then what I’m going to do is I’m going to use a little dejon mustard and sprinkle that on and I’m going to I get an allnatural organic and unsweetened ketchup by Primal kitchen it’s organic tomato.
Concentrate organic balsamic vinegar organic white wine vinegar less than 2% of salt organic onion powder organic garlic powder organic spices but there’s no sugar in this and so that’s why I like this one I’m just going to shake a little bit there add a little bit here on the bun I have some pickles I like a little.
Texture to it so I get some cloth and pickles and some onion I only had some small tomatoes so I’m not going to put those on there and instead of a portabella mushroom I actually decided on a grassfed um bison burger for a little extra protein and there you have it here is.
My healthier Burger so good so good
