Delightfully Chewy Bites: A Journey to Flavor with Every Gluten-Free Pão de Queijo!

Hey guys welcome back um as I mentioned in previous videos I was going to make some uh gluten-free Brazilian cheese Breads and I’m going to go ahead and do that today because we’re making burgers on the grill tonight and if you’ve ever tried gluten-free hamburger buns from the store or gluten-free bread of any kind from the store it’s not great.

Unless you spend a lot of money to get it and uh these cheese breads come out amazing they’re completely gluten-free and um my family doesn’t get sick which is great so anyway I’m going start off with my wife’s cookbook this thing is about 30 years old and if you look at this thing if you see a cookbook that looks like that you know you’re getting.

Some good food because it’s been used um but so i’ I’ve got most of my stuff already out just for the sake of time um already pre-measured so first thing you got is your tapioca starch we order tapioca starch online comes in a bucket like this and it is from earthborn elements you can get this stuff on Amazon works really.

Well but uh for future reference I am going to be harvesting cassava from my yard and making my own tapioca starch soon so watch out for that video so I got two and 3/4 cups of my tapioca starch and now I’ve got my queso fresco this is America uh not American I’m sorry this is a Mexican crumbling white.

Cheese you can use any kind of cheese you want in these breads I like this particular cheese in here because it’s just really good what have I done there we go so I’m going to grap the cheese one more piece here.

There we go I got my cheese and I’m going to need a tablespoon of baking powder we use clabber girl my wife prefers this um I’ve never really used anything else because she prefers it but you can use whatever you want we got uh 1 tbspoon of our baking powder I need a pinch of salt I usually.

Just pour a little like that into my hand pop that in there and now we’re going to add our cheese once I got the cheese in here I’m going to mix up all my dra my dry ingredients first because uh once I get my wet ingredients in there there’s a good possibility it’s not going to mix very.

Well if I don’t preix it like this usually I just grab a fork like that just make sure this is all combined properly um just for reference that’s about a 10 oz block of cheese I have in here which is just about perfect for a batch this size so from there I’ve got three eggs these eggs are from The silie Farmstead.

That I got yesterday check out the yolks how orange those things are I hope you can see that these are fresh fresh eggs straight from the chicken perfect for this kind of thing I’m going to need milk my milk let me see I believe that was 3/4 of a cup no I’m sorry it’s a half cup I’m glad I checked half a cup of milk.

And I need 13 cup of olive oil this pours a little slow I probably should have had this pre- poured bear with me for a moment a few moments later there we go 1/3 cup of olive oil set that all aside and now I got my handy dandy mixer all.

Right and your dough is going to come out looking very thick and chunky like that that’s exactly the way it’s supposed to be so just a moment I’ll get a pan and get the oven preheated and we’ll be good to go on baking these all right so the oven’s preheated I’ve kind of cleared away my clutter because I can’t stand working in a cluttered.

Kitchen and uh I’ve got my dough that’s been sitting here for a minute and I’ve got a measuring cup this is my one3 measuring cup that I did for my olive oil the 1/3 cup is about perfect for making a nice sized hamburger bun and this is already greasy so it’s the batter is going to come out nicely I always try.

To think about things like that cuz I hate working harder instead of smarter so anyway just going to plop these here onto this preg greased pan my oven is preheated to 400° by the way I think I F I think I failed to mention that and this batch right here will get.

You about 8 to 10 of these uh of these hamburger buns that we’re making I’m just going to Pat those down a little bit they’re going to spread out and take the shape of the uh of the pan anyway but that’s just the way I like to do it so anyway uh they’re going to go in the oven 400° for 20 minutes and we’ll come back in.

20 they’re ready so let’s get this out get my glasses steamed all right so here we have some finished Brazilian cheese breads is that just there we go now I got my dog clicking by too all right so anyway there’s a nice fresh.

Brazilian cheese bread I wouldn’t recommend doing this if you have soft hands my hands are pretty thick but uh perfect size for a hamburger bun you just slice them down the down the middle put your burger in there your toppings and you’ve got a nice my dog’s an idiot anyway you’ve got a nice burger bun you can grip with your.

Hands it’s not going to fall apart like gluten-free these things are nice and Squishy and stretchy and delicious and nothing smells as good as this right now so anyway as always if you’re enjoying this content please like subscribe coming back for more videos I’ll keep on posting thanks.
