Hi everyone welcome to my kitchen today I’m going to show you an extremely simple dish which I have at home almost every day because I’m such a rice eater rice is one of my favorites and over the past few years I’ve sort of changed uh and Incorporated a lot more fiber and higher protein in my diet because you need to include protein from various.
Different forms and it’s just not one form that’s sort of puts together and hence the reason I switched to quinoa and forx steel Millet very easy to make all your have to do is to put cook the quinoa and fox steel Millet in a pressure cooker just like how you do for rice and then um and then you’re done in a few minutes right so without wasting.
Any time I’m going to show you how to cook the quinoa and fox taale millets what do they look like and how you can serve it as well to cook the quinoa and fox tail Millet I’m going to show you what quinoa looks like so this is washed quinoa that I washed and kept it’s very small tiny grains that is very high in protein it’s good it’s got good protein.
In it and a lot of of fiber as well and then I have foxtail Millet is versatile Millet which is again has protein and lots of other vitamins and minerals that go into it great so I’ve washed both of these and kept so I’m just going to go ahead and add this into the pressure cooker so what I typically it’s cooked very similar to Rice I don’t soak it or.
Anything it doesn’t need to be soaked very much the same cooking time as rice it’s that’s what makes this combination really brilliant uh you can cook either one of them uh separately as well but I like to add a combination because the combination is what makes it really tasty the quinoa actually fluffs up um while after cooking and got a nice Airy.
Texture and then uh the Foxdale Millet also Cooks soft but is is a little bit more firmer right so hence the reason when you make a combination of this it tastes really good great so now I have one cup of total ingredients half of kinwa and half of fox tail Millet so I have three cups of water very similar to how you would cook a shot grained rice.
At home right if you want to make like a Dal chavel or anything like that not a Pula two and three so now I’m going to cover the pressure cooker and cook this for about two whistles after the two whistles turn the heat to low and then simmer it for another 3 to 4 minutes and turn off the heat allow the pressure to.
Release naturally for this will take take about 10 minutes and once it releases you’re ready to eat it and serve it as a right so we’ll just do that and now the pressure is released completely you know that’s the nature of cooking starchy things in a pressure cooker sort of splashes out a little bit a little bit and I’m just going to open.
It and then show it to you it’s been resting for quite some time yeah that’s right look at how beautifully it’s cooked just the way I like it the quinoa is nice and fluffed up it’s really soft and starchy like a rice that you want you can have it you know along with Dal chavel and Rasam and sambar and all of these dishes you typically want a rice.
That is little has a lot more starch and soft in it and this is exactly how it looks isn’t that beautiful perfect that’s it now go ahead dive into this recipe and make it and serve it along with your favorite Curry so wasn’t this recipe really simple it’s very quick recipe video where you can just you know have if you wish to have an alternative.
For having rice you should have rice I’m not saying don’t have rice but if you want an alternative and a change and a different taste the combination of these two is just brilliant you can serve I mean as you serve rice you can make a pungle you can make B bath you can make it just plain Ser it along with some Rasam sambar or some just Dal chavel.
Rajma chavel all of these things go really well with this entire rice everything goes everything that goes well with rice goes well with this so give do give this recipe a try and when you do don’t forget to share your feedback in the comments below because I’d love to hear from you and finally don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube.
