Decadent Chocolate Covered Almonds: A guilt-free indulgence!
Hi everyone welcome to the Heavenly quick bites so these are my go-to recipes for day-to-day eating for quick snacks or light meals and all they have in common is they’re practical to prepare easy to make and they’re absolutely delicious to eat so I’m going to make some chocolate almonds today so I’ve got some whole almonds here un.
Roasted and I’ve got a block of dark chocolate here so this is 74% cacao it’s got a little bit of sugar in there but for the quantity I eat I’m okay with it um you can use 100% cacao dark chocolate and add your own sweeten nut and some raw cacao powder and this is all you need so what I’m going to do is to dry roast my almonds here for a few minutes.
So I’m going to turn the heat on to medium to low heat no need for oil so I’ve got about roughly a cup and a half half of almonds here you don’t have to be precise with the quantity here I’ve got my almonds here I’m warming up the frying pan and I’m going to just gently roast my almonds so this is not a step you have.
To take but by roasting them it make them super crunchy so you can touch them to see how they’re doing I don’t want them to Brown I just want the aess moisture to escape if they feel fairly warm it’s probably good to go I think these are good I can smell a lovely almond oil and I’m going to just spread them on a plate and allow them to cool.
Now onto the chocolate so I’ve got some hot water underneath this bowl and I’m going to just snap my chocolate into smaller pieces and melt them and once the chocolate is nice and melted remove the hot water I’m going to pop in my almonds so you want to leave them completely cool before you do this.
So should be okay to go in completely and then just stir and just coach the almonds with the chocolate completely beautiful now I have a chopping board line with baking sheets and I just tuck the baking sheets underneath to keep it.
Steady and now I’m going to do is just fish out the almonds and line them on the baking sheets so you may go well it takes some time but it’s part of the joy of making these almonds to fish them out of the bowl and line them up you know you can do a listening to some podcast what music you.
Like and it will be rewarding I promise you and just keep going until you lay out all alond on the tray and uh if in the process the chocolate start to firm up just pop it back on the hot water for a little bit and uh all will be good so you can just leave it in the room temperature for it to set or if your fridge is big enough you can just pop in.
The fridge for about 15 minutes and it will be set and after 15 minutes in the fridge my almonds are nice and set you can just pick them up very easily now final thing we’re going to do here’s my mixing bowl I’m going to just sprinkle in some cacao powder so this is 100% raw cacao powder and we’re going to coat our chocolate almonds with the cacao powder.
So just pop them in they should come up very easily and just toss them around with a spatula and give it a nice coating of the cocao powder and this is it and these are our chocolate almonds so these almonds if you buy them from somewhere like H Foods they cost a small fortune I.
Think a bag of 25 G moderate size and cost about 56 if you made them at home you have control over what almonds you use and what chocolate you use and the sugar content as well and I snack on these um in and out of yoga classes when I teach or when I practice and they’re really really great power snacks and so.
Delicious let’s have a taste M so good almonds and chocolate they made in heaven so give it a try so these will last you for ages and then you can just pick them off and put them in the container in the jar and I just popped them in a jar so you can see it’s really easy to store and they keep for ages and it’s absolutely.
Beautiful it’s gorgeous chocolate Pebbles so I hope you like today’s quick bite recipe and we’ll give it a go and my cookbook is coming out very soon I’ll let you know as soon as they are launched follow me on Instagram if you haven’t already and thank you for hanging out with me and thank you for watching I’ll see you next time.
So good
