Savor the Flavor: A Guilt-Free Journey to Thai Gastronomy!

it’s the middle of winter and I am working on some meal prep recipes for you today I doing a low carb basil beef recipe and I’m going to do it with some rice cauliflower rice of course and um maybe some broccolini um salt with it and we’re going to package it up and um save it.

For meal prep okay we are making a basil beef recipe um normally it would be a Thai Basil beef but I couldn’t find Thai Basil so I’m just calling it basil beef just because um so we need to heat up uh 2 tablespoon of oil I’m using coconut oil um you can use whatever oil you prefer most Asian recipes do call for.

Vegetable oil however I suggest not using vegetable oil it’s not good for you it’s highly processed um so I’m using coconut oil today and so let me get this on medium heat coconut oil 2 tablespoon and unfortunately this stove.

Top makes a little bit of noise so um you might have to put up with a with that today so I’m going to make the basil beef and then I’m going to show you how to make the cauliflower rice it’s very simple um I’ll show you that on the stove and then I’m going to make um with this we’re going to have broccolini just sauteed with some olive.

Oil salt pepper and some chili pepper flakes so I sliced very thinly some beef and we’re just going to cook it until lightly browned we’re not going to like overly cook it and so this beef I Ed is a flank steak I cut it very thinly as thin as I can um so we’re just going to Brown this and then remove it from the pan and then.

We’re going to cook the other ingredients and then we’ll put the beef back in here okay that’s as much as I’m going to cook it for now if you are afraid of having having beef that looks like that you can keep cooking it um some people do eat rare steak so this is more than rare I would say it’s about medium.

However again it’s going to cook again so I wouldn’t worry about it so lower the heat now we don’t want it on medium we want it on low cuz we don’t want to burn any ingredients we’re going to add the garlic now we definitely don’t want to burn the garlic so we’re adding four garlic cloves that have been chopped and minced just going to cook that for.

About 30 seconds and then we’re going to add the onions and bell peppers and so now we’re going to add the red bell pepper that’s been sliced in strips mix that with the garlic and we’re going to add half a medium onion that’s been diced so we’re just going to cook everything until soften and the onions are really.

Soft and almost sort of caramelized um but again we don’t want to crank up that heat we want everything to cook nice and slow so nothing Burns but I’m going to add the beef back in mix everything really well and so and so now I’m going to add 3 tablespoons of soy sauce you can use.

Light soy sauce you can use Tamarind you can use coconut aminos here depending on your preference give it a stir now we’re going to add a touch of sweetness I’m using a half a teaspoon of brown sweetener but if you don’t have brown sweetener you can use regular sweetener you can add Stevia to whatever.

You prefer this is just a touch of sweetness to it a lot of Asian recipes use a lot of sugar in their recipes um this just adds a tiny bit of sweetness not too much um I don’t want it too too sweet you don’t have to add it at all if you don’t want to okay and now we’re going to add the 3/4 cups of Basil I’m just using the basil leaves.

Here and we’re just want to fold them in slightly until they’re wilted a bit and then that’s it that’ll be done and then you you’re optional if you want to top it with some chops coriander so if you like this recipe or any my recipes don’t forget to subscribe to my channel and give me a like or a comment if you wish um it definitely.

Helps when more people subscribe to my channel and I like getting feedback or you know suggestions on what else I can make and so now I’m going to turn off the heat and I’m going to remove this from the Heat and I’m going to garnish with some chopped cilantro but you don’t have to do that and we’re going going to make.

The cauliflower rice I’m just going to show you how I made it and we’re going to make the broccolini in the same pan so to make my cauliflower rice for my meal preps I do a huge bag of cauliflower rice a frozen cauliflower rice and I do it over low to medium heat in a dry frying pan and then I stir it once in a while and wait till some of it.

Gets a little crispy but not totally crispy and then I add salt and pepper to it and that’s it um if you’re having any type of food with sauces it’s good to use like that like I’m making a basil beef I’m making a sesame chicken so I’m going to use that in my meal preps that’s it it’s very simple but I always use frozen cauliflower rice and here we.

Are using the same pan for the broccolini I have about this is a about 350 G of broccolini it’s just a bunch I bought I cut off the ends as some of the ends were really thick and sometimes those are hard to um bite into and they don’t get very tender so I’m still using the same pan I’m warming it.

Up again slightly on medium heat and I’m going to add these salt and pepper and some chili pepper flakes and that’s it I just cook until they’re soft and tender and there we go if you don’t have broccolini in your Supermarket just use regular broccoli or your favorite vegetable this.

Is just what I like to use sometimes so because of the soy sauce that’s already in here I’m only using about 1/8 teaspoon of salt and about 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper you want to spice it up a bit add some chili pepper flakes so you just want to go in and take a bite and see for yourself if you.

Prefer that sunness still a little too crunchy for me but very flavorful so I went in and cut down some of the bigger Pieces Just So they cook a lot faster so here’s my meal prep Bowl I have the basil beef I have the cauliflower rice and I’m going to add.

Some broccolini to it and then I’m going to package it up store it in the fridge and take it out when I need it for my lunches um so you could microwave this um if you’re at work and microwave the whole bowl or container for about I would.

Say a minute um take it out of the microwave and check to see if it’s done enough for you some microwaves are much powerful than others so um but yeah a minute to 2 minutes you don’t want to overcook the meat in it because um you’ll lose its tenderness it might become tough so that’s it enjoy your basil beef.
