Fluffy Delights: Savor the Joy of Breakfast Without the Gluten!
hey Auntie Jen here and today we’re going to learn how to make some super easy super simple gluten-free pancakes these are the products you’ll need to make Auntie Jen’s gluten-free pancakes I’ve already put my egg and stirred it up a bit in the bowl so that’s the first.
Thing we’ll do okay after that we’re going to add our pancake mix what I do is I’ll just put in just so much and you can put however much you want to in here it’s not really going to matter because your consistency is going to be made with when you add milk okay so we’re going to put about let’s see here.
Okay I’ve dumped about 2/3 of the bag of bisqui into the bowl we’re just going to put this back in the package and always refrigerate whenever you get done with your uh pancake mix what I’ll do next is I’ll just stir it around with my spoon and you can see there’s about this much in the bowl I.
Want to mix that egg around in there and the flour the biscuit flour and it you can see it’s kind of looking crumbly here just a little bit crumby that way we get that egg mixed around did that good now we’re going to add our milk and what we’re going to do with the milk I.
Don’t really measure it out I just use it into consistency so I’m going to put quite a bit there you can see I’ve got quite a bit of milk there but we’re just going to Stir It Up Mix it in real good don’t want any dry stuff in here now you can see that’s thick we don’t.
Want a pancake that does that okay so let’s do add some more milk in and I’ve added about that much you can see how it’s kind of running at the top just going to Stir It Up till it gets smooth and even one thing to remember the thinner your batter the thinner the pancake will be so if you like thin pancakes then you.
Can make your batter kind of thin see this one’s kind little bit it’s about to get where I want it see how it just runs off the spoon like that I’ll show you what it looks like here my husband likes a little bit of of a thin pancake so I’ll make my batter a little bit thinner if you like thick ones you can.
Make it a little thicker than that and you can see my consistency is like that that’s how you want it to run off the spoon okay we’re ready to put it in the frying pan when I make pan P cakes I like to put down some paper towels under my bowl and I always put a paper towel.
Under my spatula this keeps my counter from getting messy cuz when you’re dealing with batter and it runs over the side it can get all over your counter then it dries and gets hard it’s hard to get loose so I always use paper towels so that’s a tip for you uh on how to keep your counter clean first thing we’ll do is add our.
Olive oil and I usually just fill fill it where it covers the skillet the bottom of it and you can see it runs around a little bit so that’s about how much we’re using in olive oil then we turn our stove on we’re going to turn it on probably to about 7 to start so our oil will get hot we’ll turn the temperature down.
Later but for right now let’s put it at seven to let it get hot all right our oil has heated up now and so we’re going to add our pancake batter so what I’m going to do is I’m just going to dump it in like so however big a size that you want I usually like to make two in the same Skillet so that’s why I use a bigger.
Skillet to do this killing two birds with one stone so to speak so we’re going to let this start cooking around and once it starts frying pretty heavily then we’re going to reduce our heat while these are frying up just a bit watch this gluten-free tip I hope it helps.
you okay we’ve just been frying about a minute I guess and and see our edges are starting to get brown okay so we’re going to turn down the heat to about probably about three because we want it to get done on the inside and not burnt on the outside so we’re going to turn it down fried a.
Little bit slower now so I’ll be back in just a minute once it’s fried and we’re ready to turn over we’ve been frying probably less than a minute here and you can see the bottom side is is starting to get brown so we’re ready to turn it over and you can also see there’s some little h H pitted into the uh dough the batter here so we’re going to go ahead.
And turn and that’s a good golden brown that’s what I like these are pretty good size pancakes so they’re going to go a good ways here especially for your your hungry family all right we’ll let it fry just a moment more and we’ll be back in a moment.
Okay we’ve been frying about a minute longer and you can see the bottom is just getting golden brown as well on both these I’ll try to press the top to see if there’s any soft feelings I mean you will have some some softness there but I want to make sure that it’s done in the middle so I might let it fry just a.
Teeny bit longer it still feels a little soft in certain places to me so we’re going to fry it just a little longer all right we’ve been frying less less than a minute so but it looks pretty pretty golden brown on That’s So I believe it’s ready so we’re going to take it out put it in our plate and we have.
Breakfast back in a moment so this is how you make Auntie Jin’s super easy simple gluten-free pancakes hope you enjoy them add some strawberries or the fruit of your choice it’s going to be delicious Auntie Jen here with a tip on how to flash freeze your extra pancakes.
This we you can have them to eat on next week or anytime that you want something for breakfast that you don’t have time to cook so let me show you how to do that we’re going to use some parchment paper and since we have quite a few pancakes we’re going to use a a pan about this size so we’re going to put our parchment paper te off enough to T.
This not to and then we’re going to get our pancakes that we have left over and our Auntie Jen’s pancakes usually makes if you make them this size you’ll have about 8 to 10 pancakes but now my husband likes these little ones so I make those for him and he likes to put sausage or some or a meat between.
These two and eat them that way so if you like those you can do them that way as well but we’re going to put these all on our pan add them all around and these will be just as good when you pretty much like fresh not totally like fresh but they’ll be very good to eat on through the.
Week so you don’t have to cook breakfast every morning okay so we’ve got them in our pan now the next thing to do is we’re going to put them in the freezer for about 2 2 and half hours and let them freeze so let’s do that now all right that’s all there is to it to flash freeze we’ll be back once they’ve Frozen.
Up for about 2 and 1/2 hours and I’ll catch you then we’re back now it’s time to take our pancakes out of the freezer that we’ve been flash freezing and we’re going to put them in the bags now before we get started I want to show you what I’ve done to my bag is I’ve got a couple of size different baggies this is a.
Gallon size this is a quart size I’ve already put the date and what’s the contents of the baggie is going to be and we will get our those pancakes out now okay you can see they’re frozen here I usually like to put bigger pancakes into the bigger gallon size bag and a lot of times I’ll have more than this I’ll have like about six pancakes.
Sometimes but in this case we’re just going to put them in try to get all the A out and then seal them up my husband I usually like to do a couple for him because he likes to eat them separate he usually likes about seven of these at a time so I usually do two baggies full for him.
Again squeeze the air out and seal them up okay they’re ready to go back into the freezer and you can eat on these probably don’t want to keep them too long eat them before 3 months is up but that gives you a good breakfast that you don’t have to cook it’s already ready just put them in the microwave and you.
Can microwave them for about well depends on the size I usually heat mine about a minute minute and a half so that that makes great breakfast all right that’s how we flash freeze have a great one hope you enjoy these gluten-free pancakes make sure to leave me a comment let me know what you think and make sure to subscribe don’t forget all right.
Auntie Jen signing off I’ll catch you on the next recipe oh
