My Gluten-Free, Wholefoods Diet During Pregnancy: Combating Acid Reflux and Nausea at 25 Weeks

Hello everyone, Happy New Year’s Eve! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas break and some well-earned downtime. I’m back with another gluten-free food ideas vlog, and I absolutely love filming and editing this style of vlog, so I hope you enjoy it too.

I’m going into the new year as a functional nutrition student, and I am really excited to be able to bring a better understanding to those who find nutrition overwhelming. Since being pregnant and having my own issues with gluten, nuts, and inflammatory foods, all I have wanted to do is dive deep into study and absorb as much information as I can. Firstly, to help myself and my family, but also eventually others.

Below are some gluten-free recipes:

Breakfast: Collagen Rice Pudding

Add a cupped handful of rice to a pan. Cover with milk – I use almond milk from Plenish. Add honey, vanilla essence, a scoop of collagen, and a pinch of salt. Let it come to a boil, then simmer for 40 mins – occasionally mixing so it doesn’t stick to the pan. It should look thick and stodgy after 40 mins. Top it with frozen raspberries, hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, and goji berry.

Morning Snack: [No specific details provided]

Lunch: 2 small garlic and herb chicken thighs, Old El Paso gluten-free wraps (actually nice), avocado, rocket, cucumber, spring onion, and sweet chilli sauce.

Afternoon Snack: [No specific details provided]

Dinner: My own version of a Cobb salad

– Base: Romaine heart lettuce

– Additional ingredients: Cucumber, spring onions, streaky bacon, 1 boiled egg, chicken (use your fist to measure a rough amount), cupped hand amount of sweet potato, 1/2 avocado or a thumbprint-sized cheese, sweetcorn

You may add homemade gluten-free croutons by shredding a dry panini and frying it in oil and garlic until golden.

morning guys I hope you’re all doing really well and had a lovely lovely Christmas a nice break I’m feeling.

Pretty good I’m currently 25 week pregnant things are going really well which I’m really grateful for I’m very thankful for really excited I thought I would film another Y in a day um like I said 25 weeks pregnant I have real day shy right now which is really.

Weird um acid reflex is killing me at the moment so my meals have been a bit weird and kind of small I’ve just done a big old food shop which I will show you what I bought I am so interested Ed in health and nutrition so I’m going to pop up my shopping list so you can see how I plan it for the week and I will talk you.

Through some meals that we’re going to have going into the following week um everything I plan is typically quite nutritionally dense and focusing on a good balance of fat carbs and proteins and obviously I’m also gluten-free so I’ll show you what I picked up Sam isn’t glutenfree so there’s some things in there that.

Obviously aren’t gluten-free um but yeah I’ll show you our food shop and then I’ll show you what I eat in a day it’s actually quite late it’s about half 10 in the morning I haven’t eaten anything yet I woke up with reflux so I just couldn’t bring myself to put something in my throat and then it yeah.

So yeah I’ll get unpacking and show you what I got Okay so we’ve got a whole collection here of food chopping stuff I was going to talk you through some of the meals so.

Tonight I’m going to do a cob salad so I’m going to do boiled eggs bacon um sweet gem lettuce maybe some avocado in mine some cucumber some little spring onions and then tomorrow I’m working all day so I’m going to do a Cuban slow roast um slow roast sorry guys I’ve just drank and not.

Eating anything and I feel like I’m going to throw up so I don’t really know what I’m saying um a Cuban pulled beef in Lo well um that little food H hul has ended abruptly because I was just sick everywhere well not everywhere down the toilet um I thought I was over the sick thing clearly the baby does not like El.

Gry so that’s going straight in the bin and I probably need to eat I know I’ve just has been sick but I think I just need to eat something gross.

Just got back from Clifton had a few little steps outside it was pretty good I didn’t walk as far as I wanted to because I needed a weed the whole time so got a good 30 minute walk in which I’m pretty happy with I might do a little Summit later before dinner I’m going to pop a really quick lunch on my portions at the moment are kind of small.

Just because I have reflx and really bad in digestion so my portions are smaller than what I would normally eat but yeah this is this is the current situation um I’m going to show you what I got when we were out actually at Wild Oats so I picked up some coconut sugar I’m trying.

To focus on less refined sugar in the house so um especially because I’m having so many issues with digestion so I picked up some coconut sugar cuz we don’t actually use sugar that often I also picked up these um I hope they hav’t got gluten in I mean I say refined sugar these have sugar in but I was going to make some.

Squares bars and they’re gluten-free so I’m going to use them I also picked up some deliciously all cow and orange oat bars the were the only bars I could find I didn’t have soy and nuts in it’s really hard to find a snack bar or a protein bar that doesn’t have nuts in I feel really bad.

For people like I don’t have an allergy I just my digestion just won’t let me digest nuts but yeah it’s pretty hard and then I’ve also picked up two hot chicken ties because I’m going to make um a wrap now cuz I’m hungry.

I just sat down to edit and realized I didn’t really introduce what we were having for dinner so we were having this really big cob salad now when I met Sam he would never have ever eaten anything like a salad but the trick to salad is a.

Good dressing and just I think you need a hot and cold food in there but the salad that I’m about to make was absolutely insane I’ll po the recipe below I did make some adust adjustments for both of us because I don’t like cheese and Sam don’t like avocado so I just switch those because they’re both fats so yeah we use them instead but.

Honestly that salad is probably going to be on repeat till forever because it was so good L new.
