hello and welcome to Pink Beach food reviews I’m Cass I’m Chris today we have come down to Chester and we have come to try out some fishing chips from Chesters of Chester we thought we come here as it is our 50th episode of pink Beach food reviews here on YouTube absolutely you think you’re fancy joining us for some.

So hello we’re down by the river d Chester on this glorious Summer’s Day finally beautiful the shades are on the Sun is bright today awesome we are not complaining so we’ve come down here especially as we have reached a thousand subscribers we like to say thank you absolutely thanks so much to each and every one of you have subscribed tuned.
In shared and commented right thanks so much sending our love so we’re going to go straight into the food we have come to a lovely place today called Chesters of Chester and this is on RAM Street that’s right R Street in Chester in the city center near the river not too far away excellent literally a six minute walk from the chippy right so what have.
You gone for today what have I gone for I’ve gone for the regular fishing chips we’ve got a regular cod fish and chips mushy peas standard British chip to and I have gone for my usual got celiac disease so I always get the glutenfree option and here we have hadock with a Lovely Bubbly gluten-free batter uh mushy peas and chips and these.
Are all cooked in a separate fryer for anybody who has gluten intolerances so let you know that right we’re going to go straight into the food let’s try a bit of this fish Quest that’s some big fish isn’t it so that’s a regular size isn’t it we’re both regular size aren’t they I’m looking at it yeah and it’s kind of folded over a bit so I don’t.
Know anyway okay no problem you get straight in I’ll cut straight into the middle of this get into there should we see how is it nice and white is it fluffy fluffy is it chunky now what does the color look to you like okay it’s not bad is it looks nice and very very nice that yep white not too thick it’s a standard fish it’s not a.
Large so here we go it’s got a nice toast very nice what is your favorite do you like hadock or Cod what’s your favorite personally what mood I mean which day is had Cod they even had Seabass on this menu I didn’t choose that I was a very very on the edge of choosing that for a change it’s not.
Often you see that on a Chip Shot menu is it well no not down our neck at Woods anyway not down our neck at Woods no uh the fish is really fluffy in the center the batter again nice and bubbly and Poppy like that looks delici and is delicious M IAD that is yes can’t detect a skin.
Yeah excellent that’s not a skin that’s just the way that’s just where it’s been next to the skin has is correct one more yeah you try that and I’m I’ll talk to the lovely people about this batter this is bubbly batter can e it on the microphone it’s got a good crunch to it isn’t it yeah like CH say the fish itself isn’t.
What we call it’s not a big chunky fillet but what it is I find from what I’m tasting so far it’s a good cut of fish it’s a it’s a very flavor some do taste that with C like cuz sometimes Cod isn’t that flavorsome is it it can taste very watery can it if you go to the C and get it straight out the sea like some places we’ve been then oh melt in.
Your mouth but obviously this is I don’t think they get out I don’t think they get out of the river day do you uh all them tugs running along the place I don’t know it’s a bit icky that okay should we go for what you going to go for now we go for the chips.
For the chips definitely nice size they have a good size aren they yeah okay yeah there we go nice and crispy nice golden look about them taste yeah sweet potato and not sweet potatoes but a proper yeah I’ve got a sweetness haven’t know what I mean p maybe some like that nice AR they yeah excellent it good.
One more please M yeah you have a nice chip salt and vinegar already put on well we did a collection didn’t we online and then I collected it didn’t you really and they asked whether obviously I was like know who I was if a have a person would like gluten- free that’s it.
Vinegar well gluten- free vinegar salt excellent catering through all situations right well I think the chips are very nice they’re very um I mean end of the day they’re are a proper potato potato we like to call them they proper potato potato they’re not your oven chip type of CBO chip no they’re made out of a potato.
Nothing added it’s just a simple potato chip CH in a deepat exactly right blah blah these peas now we all know a pee is a very important part of a fish and shap supper isn’t it really it’s going to be a good chippy okay let’s try it oh yeah they nice nice consistency I mean look at it doesn’t that stay on.
Does nice and Bunny really good A bit salty I like them person they’re really nice it’s a chippy lunch is it you know so it’s going to be a bit again do find them flavorsome they are they’re not too colored up they’re not full full of food color in are they if you look yeah.
They’re not that they’re not the same color as this tree they a bit of a bit more natural I not radioactive no okay I think it’s Chester races today is it can you see going it was cuz christe say what’s going on with this traffic car and then we saw the sign Chester races wow supposed to be a nice day out that’s.
Just typical isn’t it you know we have to come on the day busy one the busy days absolutely rammed in absolutely rammed M oh it’s so good so good man it’s a nice place isn’t it not been down here for many years but one and dad used to come down here we used to come down here quite a lot and uh go sit down here by the riv cuz it’s so.
Peaceful isn’t it so peaceful a little bit there’s a a tug revving up behind us there yeah as as I just said peaceful it uh it all started off I don’t know but he’s had his dinner a he so it’s he’s back at it Towing stuff all up and around the day anyway so how much was it C this was it uh well.
Manners what we’ll do we’ll tell you the price in a minute what I want you to do now is you know you need to look at this plate of food and tell us what you think it’s worth write that in the comments now below yeah and uh we’re going to just show you a couple of sites of Chester when we come right back we will.

Time right okay C what’s your thoughts when did you like that well when I first looked on the menu I was very pleasantly surprised because not only did he sell the food of show you today he also had sausages and he had scampy there was Cod R Cod hadock Seabass all glutenfree there was also Curry I other many other.
Options there that’s the I think that’s the most ever seen on a menu gluten three that was a vast menu for a gluten-free menu um it was very good yeah um the food itself um I felt was the batter was very nice very good you say the word nice you need a bit better word than nice don’t we um it had a lot of flavor to it it.
Tasted no different than I remember a batter tasting Chris tasted the batter than you for ated oh damn good yeah not a fault with that no problem yeah it was it was crunchy throughout it wasn’t sometimes you get fish and inside the batter it’s it’s not quite is it it’s soggy isn’t it just the whole of the whole of the fish was just crunchy.
Throughout the you know all that battle was so crunchy the fish itself that hadock it just tasted so rich it was it was very fresh very fresh White peas good peas good consistency like you said before about the peas they were Lally you know you see them sometimes literally lows of water water green.
Water is it a bit soupy type of thing yeah like that these were good you pick them up they’re falling down you down your top and you know ruing your top for the day reinstruct you exactly yeah yeah what you think about yours Chris well I’ve got to totally agree um from the top the fish was very well cooked it was nice and fluffy and white not too thin.
Thick rather that doesn’t bother me one I ought that was a nice standard portion I really enjoyed it the batter nice and Poppy and crackly all on the top that’s a fish for you that is a fish from a chippy the peas they stuck to the fork well they didn’t fall off nice bit of saltiness to it yeah thoroughly enjoyed it damnn good we just say what the.
Receipt is if you think you got it right so the receipt was It was £25 95 just 13 quid each yeah 13 quid each is that something you’d pay for a chippy fish and chips and peas I mean nowadays I think that’s pretty much they going right it is not well you’re in Chester you know it’s an old Roman city is it.
It’s a place to visit so it is going to be a touch on the on the I know there are cheaper chippers but they don’t serve the glutenfree so we can’t go to them about that if you know any gluten-free chippers not wholly gluten-free just half and half um vegan vegetarian type of things let us know down in the comments cuz we would love.
To go and try these out we% you know we we were going to go to Black pool and we know it’s our f one of our favorites we were going to go try do we dare say it the Yorkshire Fisheries because it’s very popular unfortunately when we inquired they would only provide me with a steam fish fish couldn’t even they had no batter there was nothing.
So literally I felt I feel like that was a bit of a hearted attempt it’s nothing you want to go to Black pool for a nice day out and have a steam fish do not offering nothing you could go to ALDI or something and just get frozen fish and boil it in a bag it’s not for me anyway not as a treat is it no it’s not fair that no so that’s the food basically we.
Think it’s pretty decent 2595 all in um and it was hot it was ready exactly the time it said it was ready at it was ready wasn’t it it was send you little message through to let you know it’s ready we went and collected it it literally come out the fries I walked into the Chip Shop serious there you go fantastic all right.
So with that we’re going to go straight on to our pink score a the scores are in so what is your pink score for today Chris the pink score today C is bum Tish it is a 10 and it’s dead easy I thoroughly enjoyed that that was.
A lovely dinner well cooked the fish was delicious the batter was crispy the chips golden and nice and fluffy you know the peas that’s that’s my kind of peas bang on straight 10 guys and here is a 10 from me which makes us give you a grand total of 20 wow and all to say is this chest is a Chester it’s it’s a chest it’s amazing.
It’s good it’s very nice and what a better place to get it it’s really delicious food all around the whole plate and come and eat down the river day on a beautiful day you really can’t beat that it’s so relaxing by the water sign it’s beautiful blessed beautiful yeah we’ve been blessed today yeah so it’s a 10 from both of us want to say.
