Revitalize Your Space and Savor Sweet Serenity: A Deep Clean and Delicious Recipe Journey
Hi! How was your week? The weather was really unstable here. All that extreme heat and then the unforeseen storms left our plants in pretty bad shape. So today I decided to do a deep clean of our balcony and give it some life again. I also bought two new flowers to give it a little color. Taking care of plants is a very enjoyable hobby for me. I find it really pleasurable. It takes a lot of time even with a small balcony like this. But it’s also an incredible stress reliever.
Now I’ll make room for the new flowers. I have trouble dealing with spiders and ants on some of my plants. Also my hydrangeas have some leaves with black or gray parts. Do you have any advice on how to treat them? It’s already nice to see more green. They say they open when the sun rises. It rained again. I’ll have to sweep a little and continue when it stops. It finally stopped.
It’s still cloudy but I’ll finish so I can enjoy the space tomorrow. Almost done! I can’t believe its the same floor. Now that it’s stopped raining I can take out the table so everything is in its place. We also installed some lights so we can stay longer and enjoy the night breeze. Next day With all that rain temperature has dropped a little today, so I’m craving something chocolatey. For this chocolate squares you need 1/2 cup of rice flour, 1/2 cup of black cocoa powder, 1/2 cup of date syrup (or any syrup), 1/4 cup of coconut oil, 1/4 cup of plant based milk and 1 tsp. of vanilla extract. It’s a good option for the week, since it’s vegan, sugar free and gluten free.
When I was reading the first chapters of Atomic Habits there was something that really helped me. As the author explains, it is not the best to always resort to willpower. It gets exhausting. So instead of keeping a lot of sweets at home, I make sure the sugar free options are more appealing or easier to choose. So there’s almost no room for me to go for something with refined sugar. If I have leftovers from the weekend I usually freeze them so we avoid temptation. It’s simple but it works for us. Making the good habits more attractive and easy and the bad ones more difficult and unattractive. Last year I almost never used my blender.
But since I made space for it on my countertop it has become a lot easier and I use it almost every day. Avoiding the step of moving a lot of things to get it out made it easier for me to use. While it’s in the oven I’ll prepare a chocolate coating. You need 50g of chocolate and 50g of peanut butter, then melt it together. It’s really simple and delicious. Now let it cool before coating it. There are only ten days left before I start the introductory course of the new career I’ll be studying. I’ve always been interested in nutrition, since I was little. But somehow it never occurred to me before it could be my area of study and work.
I’m truly excited about it. It really feels like a new beginning. Now a couple of minutes in the fridge so the chocolate sets. What are you two doing? Don’t fight please. The lazy battle continues. She is so mad 🤣 Relax now, you can go back to sleep. To finish I’ll grate a little chocolate on top.
The new flowers opened with the sun. So beautiful. I found two little trees growing here, I don’t know where they came from. I’ll take some time to rest. The day is perfect for being outside. Today I choose to take some time alone, with no book or phone. A moment to observe and appreciate what surrounds me. To enjoy the taste of what I cooked and the warmth of the brewed coffee. Of course the cats wanted to do alone time with me 😂.
I am happy to start my new career, but I am aware that it will require a lot of my time. So I think one of my challenges for this year will be to find balance. To find the way of giving study and work attention without losing sight of the other aspects of my life. In moments like this it’s tempting to start wondering too much about the future. But life often surprises us with unexpected things. So as long as we are present and make sure to be truly intentional I think we’ll be okay. And if things get a little carried away, we can stop, think and then intentionally take action. This Monday I sent the resignation telegram from my job. And cried a lot more than I thought I would.
But although it was a hard decision to make, I proved to myself that I could do what it took to be well. So for now I’ll try to only worry about the the present, not the future or the past. And face each challenge as they come. I hope you have a beautiful week. Thank you for watching. See you next week.
