Quinoa is a gluten-free seed that serves as a nutritious alternative to traditional grains like wheat and rice. Often referred to as a “pseudo-cereal,” quinoa is cooked and consumed in a similar manner to grains. This ancient seed originates from South America, particularly the Andean region encompassing countries such as Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador, where it has been cultivated for thousands of years and remains a staple in local diets. Rich in nutrients, quinoa contains protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, and is notable for being one of the few plant-based foods that provide all nine essential amino acids, making it a complete protein source.
Quinoa is available in various colors, with white, red, and black being the most common. Each variety presents a slightly different texture and flavor, offering versatility in culinary applications. It can be incorporated into a wide range of dishes, including salads, soups, side dishes, and even baked goods or breakfast porridge. When cooked, quinoa exhibits a light, fluffy texture and a subtle nutty flavor, making it a popular choice for those seeking healthy and adaptable ingredients in their meals.
Wrap Your Taste Buds in Health: Crafting Delightful Gluten-Free Quinoa Creations!
So there we are look at that that’s our quoa wraps made and you just eat them any which way you would do normally when you make a wrap so we just take one of these look at this absolutely fabulous hi everyone welcome to biaf I’m Rick today a healthy wrap recipe we are using quinoa.
Quinoa here it is we’re going to rinse it off then we’re going to soak it we’re going to soak it overnight and then we’ll carry on and we’re going to make some wraps now this is a fantastic healthy option and it’s glutenfree so you know anybody that’s on one of those gluten 3 diets or whatever it is and they want to eat wraps this is.
As healthy as they come so we just rinse some of this and then we’ll stick it in water and we’ll soak it overnight and then we will carry on tomorrow okay there’s our quinoa it’s been resting overnight in there we need to give it a rinse off there we go that is our drained quoa all we’re going to do now is get a blender stick it in a.
Blender with a couple of cups of water and blend it so we got a blender look all we going to do is get that in there with a couple of cups of water in fact I’m going to put a little bit of water in first and then it can sit on the water and not just sink to the bottom so in we go get our quo in.
There and we want to set up to blend and as per usual the wrong way around okay and what I will do with this I will just add a little bit of salt just put a little bit of salt in there and give it a mix in and that is it now it is quite a runny mix this but it will work don’t worry about it right it’s a bit like making a pancake really.
We need a flame on we need to heat up the pan and then we’re going to tip some batter mix in there and we’re just going to swirl it around that’s going to make our wrap and this stuff is very runny look but you know come on let’s go for it so asper all pancakes the first one’s probably going to be terrible but anyway not to.
Worry we got a little full of our quinoa there and we just want to be in there and swivel it round gently gently gently let it sit now it will bubble you know there’s a lot of water evaporation coming out of there don’t worry about it just let it sit let it cook away there is.
No hassle with this and you can see it’s now started to cook and the water’s evaporating now what’s going to happen is it will release from the pan look it’s so oh it is quite loose already normally it sticks a little bit to start off with um and then you soon as you give it a little shake it moves then we know it’s released it’s the same as any.
Old pancake or anything like that give it a little bit of cooking and then we’re going to flip it so just let it cook nice and gently we got a fairly fairly low flame look going to grab a plate because as soon as these are cooked we’re going to stack them like you would any.
Other wrap now you can see it’s starting to You Can’t Touch This by the way it’s very hot and sticky um if you touch it you’re going to get burnt fingers you can see the edges are starting to curve up we just give it a little bit longer and we’re going to give that a flick over so the secret to all of this is and.
There is a secret the the secret is you don’t turn it too early leave it to cook let the sides come up when the sides come up it’s ready for flipping so just give it a second and then let’s flip it over and look at that that looks just like a.
Wrap fantastic just give it a little couple of minutes on that side a minute to two minutes and I might just flip it back again actually just for the sake of it make sure it’s all cooked properly and you can see look it’s puffed up like a wrap fantastic there you go.
Look a little bit of color going on there I’ll just give it a little 20 seconds and then we’ll flip it back and chook it on that plate that is done just leave it on there let’s get another one in here nicely nicely just take it out like.
That it’s just amazing you know it’s like a watery mix but it makes a fantastic wrap really you can see now look it’s started to come up from the pan that’s what we’re looking for as soon as it comes up from the pan curves up a little.
Bit it’s going to be ready for flipping perfect perfect perfect wraps so there we are look at that that’s how a quoa wraps made and you just eat them any which way you would do normally when you make a wrap so we just take one of these look at this absolutely.
Fabulous so there you are that’s how wrap Fantastic look at these wrap anything in that like you would a normal wrap absolutely fantastic a little bit about the kunoa wrap then these kuoa wraps will last 3 to 4 days in a Ziploc bag in the fridge Frozen about 2 months glutenfree put what you want in superb fantastic wraps so there you are.
