hi everyone welcome to Jan’s page hope you all are doing good today we are going to see a very very easy traditional kala recipe that is putu this putu can be have with banana or with kadla curry that is Chana Curry so let’s go into the video and see what the ingredients we need this is.
Rice flour one cup you can buy any rice flour from the supermarket and then the little bits are the cardamom seeds so if you have cardamom powder just add a tiny pinch of cardamom powder for the flavor and coconut of course coconut gives a nice and richy taste to the putter so let’s start doing the Putter and here comes a bit of salt and in that I will.
Also add some sugar that is Palm Jagger sugar the coconut I have grinded this is two handful of coconut the more coconut you put the more smell and fragrance and taste it will give to the putu so I always tend to put a bit more but usually for 1 cup rice flour you can add two handfuls of coconut or one handful of coconut it’s up to you okay.
Now then we are going to mix it nicely we are going to sprinkle water in b matches as I am doing here and then we need a crumbly texture so it holds on see how I am doing it just a little bit of water in total I have used only half a cup of water and here goes the Palm jaggery you can use normal sugar by always but we always do the palm jaggery.
Sugar only so this is as per taste so if you want a bit sweet then you can add more but but for us little sugar is okay so I’m going to add little bit of more water and on the side if you can see I have kept the put maker this you can also steam in the normal uh itly pot but this is specially put maker which I got back from home and here is the mixture.
For the put ready see how it is nicely holding in your hand this is how we need the mixture to be so this we are going to keep this aside and then we are going to oil the put maker so we take a little bit of oil and then we are going to rub the oil on each sides and on the steel plate and the cup as well this put is same like idly how you steam the idly.
For 10 to 12 minutes in the same way we are going to steam the put maker this comes in steel and uh it has got a little strainer type this is is very important and the uh upper lid and here is the mug in which we are we are going to put the water see the water level is up to a finger level how you do for the ity how much water you keep for the itly.
Pot same level you have to keep see my finger side that time I have kept the water and we are going to boil the water and next we are going to take the oil and brush the oil all over the putter stand and the strainer and the lid as well make sure you put the oil nice or else it will not crumb properly out when the putu is steamed and nicely ready for.
The taking out okay so make sure you put it this is very very important step so that is why I’m insisting you to do this properly because then you will oh it’s not coming properly what are we going to do so this is how you do it and keep this aside and in goes the strainer we are just going to put the strainer here and the putto stand is ready now the.
Mixture we have kept it ready that we are going to put in that meanwhile see uh the water is boiling and in goes the putu now the powder don’t put too much at one time just put one little little as I you can see in that and don’t press it because if you press it when the steam is done and when you want to take it out it will be very hard for you to.
Take it so you just need to take the mixture and slowly slowly pour it in now the water is boiling make sure the gas is on very medium or low heat because the put to stand will fall down if the heat is very high because the base of the base of the that cup is not very heavy because it is a steel one so make sure the putter stand is ready now after.
12 minutes the pter is ready so we take out that little properly and see how soft and yummy it looks so with a stick with a Dosa stick Dosa pan stick we are going to push it from the back and the p is coming out nicely see it is have it firm shape and it is not breaken just because we didn’t push the powder too much in the rice powder too much in so.
The putu is ready this you can try with Chana Curry that is kadla curry or else with banana as well it nicely mix the putu with the banana and so yummy this bad boy is oh very nice lovely putu Kerala dish is ready see you again soon bye-bye.
