Gluten-Free Goodness: A Wholesome Aldi Grocery Haul for Celiac Awareness Month
shocker I spent too much money on groceries whoa oh hello my name is Amy and I am currently on a weight loss journey I am following ww um I also have celiac disease so I have to eat gluten-free so all of my grocery hauls will always be.
Gluten-free for the most part unless I’m having like an event or something like that and then they’re not going to be but let me show you what we got you fell down I don’t know what you caught of that but I spent way too much money at Aldi I spent $19.75 I went in for a couple things I.
Usually go into Aldi with just a bag so I don’t do this but this time I got a cart when you do a cart it’s not good I don’t know if you know if you have an Aldi okay if you don’t have an Aldi you have to spend 25 cents to get a cart at Aldi you get that cents back but it’s kind of a pain in the rear to do and.
Then they don’t bag there they just throw it in the cart and so it’s a whole process so when you get a cart you just got to know you’re going to overspend and that’s what we did but let me show you what we got cuz we got some good things and some new things all right and I got a lot of veggies baby bella.
Mushrooms zucchini the zucchini looked really good today so I’m excited to do like a grill basket full of mushrooms zucchini I got some peppers excited about that um mini CES green pepper I haven’t been getting green pepper so I was kind of excited to pick those up um and then I got some.
Avocado put avocado on my English muffin and then I just got some eggs sweet taters tricolor Peppers celery green onion I always forget about green onion and green onion is like a very inexpensive way but it’s really good on.
Salads you can add it to eggs I got it I’m going to make egg roll in a bowl um so I picked up this COA um chop it up and you can cook it in there and then put some uncooked on top of it for some added flavor so don’t sleep on green onions I tend to forget about it but not today because I was in a spend mode.
Um jalapenos uh it’s Cinco de mayos coming up and I want to make a salsa I also picked up tostadas I saw I don’t know I don’t remember which Creator I was watching someone and they were making tostadas and that sounded really good and I never picked these up.
So I went tostadas but jalapenos this is like 80 cents or something like that for this big bag um I might pickle some because I can never go through a bag and I always like waste them and I don’t like to waste but I think I might pickle them we’ll see I got some red onion and.
Then green grapes cilantro for My Salsa tostadas that whole thing I actually have some cilantro growing but it’s in infant stages so and ALDI had it and this is like5 so picked up cilantro and then two things of nanners I’ve been really enjoying smoothies lately um so that’s why I got.
Two cuz I do like to when I have bananas on hand I do like to eat a banana each day um and so this way hopefully I can have some that are ready for the freezer and that’s all the fruits and veg all right we’re going to start with the Frozen things so it is April 30th right now today and may starts Celiac awareness month and ALDI is actually a.
Really great place um for gluten-free items and every may they have a whole plethora of Products that come out that are gluten-free that they don’t have in the store every day so that’s also why like part of this Haul is impulse and more than what I would typically do because I don’t typically get these kind of things and when you can get them and.
At a more affordable price um I’m going to do it so I picked up um these gluten-free chicken uh egg rolls I don’t usually have this kind of thing on hand I will put um the points on the screen I didn’t scan anything in the store so I’ll put everything on the screen for you um but one of my meals that I picked up um that.
I plan on having is Egg Roll in a bowl so I figur this would be a nice little side addition to the Egg Roll in the bowl um another gluten-free item I got these gluten-free plain English muffins It’s a big box and there’s only four in here and these were like $4 and some change it’s still a freaking racket but that’s still actually it.
Might be more expensive cuz I feel like when you go to the grocery store and you get the glutino brand I think you might have like six or eight in there and this only has four and the glutino brand is anywhere from like5 to $7 so I don’t know but anyway gluten-free English muffins I like to make um breakfast sandwiches out of.
Those so I’ll put in an egg I actually got some avocado so I’ll put avocado and then I think I already have some bacon on hand so um and then I just got some feta this is just the original not low fat or low cal or anything like that I just like to put this on salads it’s just a really good cheese um to have on hand but with that.
I also got a brick of the it’s this is a tomato basil and cheese I didn’t care if it was tomato basil but um I just wanted a brick because I want to make I craving for that Viral Tick Tock from like last year or two years years ago feta tomato basil pasta um so obviously tomato basil goes well with it so I picked up a brick of that and I’m actually growing basil.
Right now but it’s like on infant stages so I might have to wait a little bit to get it to make it but this is good until September so I’ll wait until I have fresh basil for my own garden to make it I also picked up this is like such a tiny bag and I have no idea how much this was but because I can actually get.
It I got it um gluten-free cheese raviolis and then I just picked up a bunch of frozen vegetables so it’s got some green beans I got a California medal frozen broccoli I like to take the frozen broccoli I got this one other time I.
Think in my last Aldi haul and I had it and it was really really really good um and so I just got a bag of this this is just something easy to have on hand if I’m feeling like lazy or I want some sort of like fast food kind of thing this is perfect that I can make at home and I’ll put par it with frozen broccoli and then some rice and it’s a good.
Little meal oh to go along the same lines I got some animame um a nice little protein this has got well it’s got 6 G of fiber for a bag and then 15 g of protein in this whole bag so I’ll just have this as a side or like I’ll shell like I’ll have it as a side and then like the next meal.
I’ll just take some that are left over and shell them and put them in a stir fry and that’s good and then this is one of the main raisins I went I was out of almond milk so I just picked up this unsweetened almond milk that’s what I use to sweeten or to put cream in my coffee this is my cream almond.
Milk all right non- perishables that’s also the nice thing about Aldi is like I just bagged everything in my car so like I could group it how I wanted all the Frozen and refrigerated go together all the perishables fruits and veg and then non- perishables it’s so nice and.
Organized napkins quinoa spice of brown mustard hot sauce this tomato basil pasta sauce this is I I usually make my red sauce I’m Italian that’s what we do but it is nice to have one on hand that you can just have when you’re craving pasta this is.
One the most economical I think it’s $1.99 for this jar two macro friendly it’s clean ingredients um there’s zero added sugars in this it’s only 45 calories for a/2 cup so this is more comparable to a rare but like a fraction of the costos whatever um yeah so if you have an Aldi and you buy Jarred sauce I highly highly.
Recommend the tomato basil marinara from them um and then I’m out of black beans so I just picked up a can of black beans and then a can of corn two cans of corn and then I picked up some ghee have you guys ever used ghee I’ve never used ghee before but I don’t use butter just.
Because it really like messes with my stomach and I’ve heard a lot of good things about ghee ghee is just clarified butter um it’s but it’s free of lactose casin gluten obviously and then sodium so I decided to give it a try um let me know in the comments like how you you use ghee and what you do with it um I’m thinking of.
Sautéing like chicken I think you can bake with it I think you can do all the things that you do with butter I’m not 100% positive um but let me know what you do so I was good and got a little thing of ghee at Aldi instead of picking up a big thing at Costco without knowing if I’m going to like.
It that’s a win and then I also picked up some grape seed oil I’m fresh out of grape seed oil um so I have this book called fix it with food and it’s an Elimination Diet type thing and in that recipe book he has a recipe for like it’s gra grape seed oil and um oregano and you just Infuse the grape seed oil with the.
Oregano and um and it adds a lot of flavor to your food so like I cook eggs in it and it’s really good I make it and I can just use that as a salad dressing um with just a little bit of oil and the oregano and it’s really good and I actually just got a bunch of oregano from my dad and um so it’s drying on my counter right here so I saw.
This and I was like ooh let’s pick that up instead of wasting the expensive olive oil to do that I’m just going to use the grape seed oil and grape seed oil also has a higher smoke point than um olive oil my cat is going crazy right now um okay.
Impulses I’ve been craving pancakes so I picked up this pancake and baking mix and I’m sure I can make my own pancake mix but why not just pick up some a mix and then I picked up a mix of just yellow gluten-free cake um it is my friend’s birthday and we’re getting together this week to celebrate she’s not gluten-free but a bunch of other.
Girls in the group are gluten-free so I figured I would just make this um cuz it actually I mean gluten-free cake is is fine it tastes similar to regular it’s just not as fluffy if you will and then I just picked up a cream cheese frosting and a chocolate frosting I don’t know which one I’m going to.
Use yet but um I also have like a chocolate cake mix in my pantry already so whatever one I don’t use for the yellow cake I’ll use for the chocolate cake um and then I also picked up some almond flour cuz I’m fresh out and I think it’s more cost effective to get this at Costco but it takes me forever to go.
Through that bag and yes I am try I’m keep saying on here that I’m going to try to bake but instead said let’s pick up some box let’s pick up some boxes but um a friend of mine was telling me that she likes to sauté her chicken she like breads it using um almond flour and then saut it in coconut oil and it gives it like just a.
Sweetness and since I’m fresh out of almond flour like I want to make that recipe um and so I just picked up a bag of almond flour and then maybe if I decide to start cooking or baking I cook I’m just not baking um I can have it on hand and then the last thing is just um lightly salted rice cakes I figured I.
Have peanut butter so I can put some peanut butter on here and then like cut up some bananas and put that on there for a little snack and that’s everything I got for $115 what do you think oh wait no it’s not everything another impulse.
Buy uh I like this lesser evil popcorn there’s eight bags in here and I think it was $5 which is still freaking expensive but it’s a Himalayan pink salt and it’s a nice on the- go little snack um they use avocado oil to make that popcorn but yeah that’s everything for $120 I mean I feel like it’s a a good.
Amount but I didn’t get any proteins cuz I already have proteins like there was no meat in this haul for $120 there was no Seafood there was no chick there was no none of that that’s a problem do you guys shop at Aldi where do you shop because I have a bunch of different grocery stores by me and I tend to like.
Ali and Costco I will never get away from Costco cuz I just love Costco so much but I go between like Harris Teeter Publix we also have Whole Foods we have fresh market we have this place called Lowe’s Foods um but it’s Aldi and Costco for me so where do you guys shop I am very curious do you even have an.
Aldi um anyway okay now I’m rambling and I’m hungry it’s 1:30 and I haven’t eaten a thing today which is also probably why I spent $120 at Aldi so I’m going to eat some lunch put the rest of this away and um I will see you in the next video thank you so much for watching if you are new to my channel and you haven’t subscribed I would love if you.
