Indulge in Decadence: A Review of King Arthur’s Gluten-Free Fudge Brownie Mix

Today I’m going to be making the King Arthur Baking Company glutenfree ultimate fudge brownie mix this was $749 at The Fresh Market you need three ingredients you need uh one stick of melted butter you need 2 tablespoons of water and you need two eggs you can use a cup of nuts or uh any kind of that you want like walnuts or pecans or something.

Like that or you could use a uh a cup of chocolate chips I am going to make it just as is I’m going to make it just from what they give you and see how they turn out so what you want to do is you’re going to put your butter water and eggs in a mixer and you’re going to mix these together and then after these are mixed together then we’re going to.

Add our um our powder you don’t have to do it for a long period of time it’s just until it’s mixed together make sure your egg yolks are broken up and then add your powder and then we’re going to mix it again uh you do want to preheat your oven I’m using a glass pan so the.

Temperature is different for a glass pan uh if you’re using a metal pan you can preheat your oven to 350 because I’m using a glass pan I’m heating my oven to 325 and it is an 8 by8 pan you either grease it or use parchment paper you want to add your mix to your prepared pan if you were going to add.

Nets or chips you would stir those in at this point um it says if you have um an 8 by 8 in pan they want you to use a square pan but if it’s a 9 by9 in pan they want you to use a round pan so I have a 9 by9 in square pan and I might have a round one but I don’t I don’t know I didn’t want to take the time to I’m thinking.

Like cake pan I know yeah yeah that’s what it sounds like so I don’t know but I I decided to use the glass pan just because I know for sure what size it is this is an incredibly incredibly thick uh mix you see it doesn’t want to it’s not like it’s oozing it’s not oozing at all it’s going to stay right there where I put it no natural.

Spreading no so make sure that you spread it out evenly on the bottom and because I’m preheating my oven um to 325 this is going to be a longer bake time um in the glass pan so if you’re using a glass pan it says bake at 325 for 40 to 45 minutes I’m going to bake mine on um probably for about 42 minutes um I don’t want to go to the top.

Of the time and I would rather have an a gooier brownie um I’d rather have it a little underdone than perfectly baked you know than fully baked anyway the time the baking time was supposed to be from 40 to 45 minutes I set my timer for 42 minutes and I took them out and they were still you could tell when I shook.

The pan a little they were still really jiggly in the middle so I put them back in for an additional 2 minutes so they were in for 44 minutes so now you are supposed to let them cool for at least at least 15 minutes before cutting so I’m going to set a timer for 15 minutes and then we’ll be back you never watched any of my baking.

Videos this is why I use parchment paper my pans completely clean and these U are nice uh uh this will be a nice cut on these brownies distributed out of Norwich Vermont they’re non-dairy glutenfree uh do not eat raw mix dough.

Or batter you usually I do uh lick the bowl or the B the bead or whatever I didn’t do that this time so um haven’t tried them at all be a surprise because I don’t mind trying things uh Raw I think to really make that like not really almost running mhm you almost had to baked it another like four or five.

Minutes I yes yeah I would have had to have gone way over their time uh and I went by the glass pan times um there’s something earthy in there when I first put it in my mouth I like I liked the warmth and the gooiness yeah but it is extremely Sandy to me it is a it’s not it’s Sandy it’s a very fine like it’s not like gritty like sugar grip no this.

Is a very fine uh grit and it it sticks with you and it makes you feel like you immediately need a drink yeah and do do you get a little bit of an earthy flavor it could be just the cocoa they use you be kind of yeah I think it’s just a deeper chocolate that that did not bother me at all it is all about the texture of these yeah the texture is.

Very um that like you said Sandy mhm it’s really fine it’s not like a big gritty Sandy you get at the beach it’s just a it’s a it’s a texture you get on your tongue yes but it’s very noticeable um it’s it’s a it’s a very of course you know if if you’re going to scarf it down and then get you a big drink it’s probably not going to matter but I try.

To make mine last a little while and um eat it a bite at a time I I do not care for the texture yeah I mean I guess if you’re gluten-free you’re kind of you’re probably used to it I don’t know I don’t know if we’ve had other gluten-free stuff that didn’t have I know I don’t remember uh this is the second video we’ve done of the King Arthur mixes and.

The reason I’ve never bought them before is because they’re very expensive expensive $749 is expensive for a brownie mix and it does seem like we’ve had other gluten free brownie mixes that we really liked and that didn’t have that texture but both from this brand specifically had that Sandy um that that.

Grip that coating yeah and I just don’t like the texture for so for me it is an absolute pass because of that yeah I don’t mind the flavor too much like I kind of has that little bit of of an earthy flavor not like dirty dark grass or anything like that but it does have a little bit of earthiness I think it’s from the cocoa honestly I think it’s if.

I were to go eat baking cocoa it would have a similar flavor probably but um yeah there’s something it’s a very dark dark chocolate but I don’t mind the flavor honestly for me it’s about the texture yeah the texture and the texture is just as important uh important part is the flavor I mean it it makes it either enjoyable or not enjoyable and so.

The the texture can ruin it completely just as much as the flavor so for me it’s just a total pass because of that texture so I hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching
