That some of our students can’t eat and we want to make sure that everybody enjoys Thanksgiving right right we have a lot of friends and do you have a lot of friends yes tell me one of your friends names John John we want to make sure that all the John’s of the world get to eat a little something for Thanksgiving.
Yes so we make sure that those individuals who have special diets can eat something that won’t disrupt their tummies right why we don’t want to tummy problems thanks so while other people might be eating things like mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes and macaroni and cheese and all that crazy stuff yeah our guys with more sensitive diets we.
Have the perfect meal for them too okay we’re all good and Tina is GNA help me out so first off what’s the what is the thing that Everybody Eats on Thanksgiving turkey turkey now turkey doesn’t have any gluten in it it doesn’t have any milk products in it so everybody can eat turkey right what’s your favorite part of the turkey the.
Turkey legs the turkey legs that’s cool that’s dark meat you know what Mr Jim’s gonna tell you my favorite part yes is the turkey thigh I like the thigh I like the dark meat baby it’s so good I like dark meat too dark meat so good A lot of people like the breast meat it’s very it’s very dry sometimes very dry need need more gravy on that I like the.
Dark me but turkey good for everybody so everybody gets a little turkey on their plate yes but an alternative to like stuffing and Macar an alternative to that is what do we got right here rice we have rice just simple white rice every campus has a box of this rice and I bought a simple version of it this time now I’ve never done this before so.
We got to read the instructions right but do you know that you can make this either in on the stove or you can make it where in the microwave you can make it in the microwave if you want to how easy is that so right here it says that very simply you put it in a microwave Bowl right these are actually little bags in here so you open it up you ready.
To open it up so you I want you to I want you to show everybody the bag show everybody the bag on there so that bag has little holes in it called perforations right and you just stick that right in the bowl the bowl the ho in the water in the microwave yes okay very good so we’re going to put that one back but you can make a couple of these.
I don’t know it depends on how many students need the special diet but there are like four bags in here four four bags I don’t think you’ll need all four but if you need all four use all four but all you do again is stick it’s like that that you ever heard that song and the Green Grass Grows All Around and around and they go the hole and the.
Ground and the ground and the ground and the Green Grass Grows All Around you know that song yeah well this is like that you put the rice in the bag and the bag and the water and the water and the bowl and the bowl and the microwave and the microwave Cooks it and the rice tastes really good all around all around right right that’s so it’s pretty simple.
Stuff guys make the rice for the guys they can have some of that yeah instead of stuffing and instead of macaroni cheese and all that because it’s more settling on their stomach now even the green beans are kind of not great for some of our guys with special diets because they have all the gooey stuff on them right so we have an alternative.
Vegetable for them too vegetable vegetables so you have a couple different ways you can cook this as well maybe in the microwave maybe on the stove but first and foremost we have what peas peas you like peas yes I do like peas not a big fan of can peas but I do like peas I like them Frozen but this is a little easier for our students.
I would get rid of the water first CU there’s water in here juice juice correct and and what I do when I make canned vegetables is i dub out the juice I do that too you do it then we go under the sink I fill the can up with water again water with the yeah because then and then you dump it out one more time yeah gets rid of a bunch of salt salt.
It’s not good it’s not good for them too much salt not good so that’s our peas and you can mix them with corn peas and corn I think uh that was Forest scump just kidding that wasn’t Forest Gump at all that was peas and carrots but we have peas and corn they can go together dump them dump them dump the juice fill that up with water dump them get the.
Salt all out a little bit 100% you can put it again like I said in the microwave yeah or if your class wants to do it on the stove they can put them on in a sauce pan on the stove little water yes heat them up yeah little garlic salt right little a bit not too much not too much good point good point we don’t want anybody’s kidneys shutting down on.
Thanksgiving no way so those are our glutenfree sides s for our friends who have special diets like some people are diabetic diabetic yeah some people are gluten-free what does that mean that means that they don’t eat bread it’s like a new thing since I was a kid you know some people I I don’t know if it’s real or not but I’m a diabetic I can’t.
Eat no bread either okay well then this is a good alternative for you fantastic yeah but you still want to have Thanksgiving right right so you have a little rice you have a little veggies and you have lots of turkey lot of turkey a whole leg Yeah I like that idea Tina you want to say adios to everybody out there adios have a great day day.
Okay and happy happy thanks Thanksgiving you got it girl okay I go back
