Breaking Down the Hype: Debunking the Myths of Gluten Free, Grain Free, and Low/No Carb Diets
Hey guys it’s Sammy so I just wanted to hop on today I want to talk to you guys about just a comparison of some of what can be popular fad diets and in reality some of them um can have some really good benefits in regards to your health status and what you’re dealing with um you know but if you’re just someone who’s just looking to lose weight um.
Improve your health um you know it may not be the best option for you but let’s let’s just break it down today um and go ahead and talk about gluten-free grainfree and low to no carb diets those three I just want to compare and contrast those three and just talk about who needs those um so let’s just talk gluten-free first okay if you are.
Someone who is celiac um non-celiac gluten sensitivity um thyroid disorder those three right there those are definite non-negotiable um you need to be free of gluten for life and the reason for this is because how your body deals with gluten um if you continue to eat it not only are you going to end up with more.
Damage to your gut um but your symptoms are going to be worse it’s just going to continue to get worse because the the more damage that you do to your gut the more health challenges are going to be presented um if your gut is not healthy you’re not healthy so um for those who are dealing with those issues non-negotiable it’s it’s not something.
You can play around with and maybe eat it every once in a while those are just a it needs to be gone for life um but for people who are maybe dealing with an autoimmune disorder um chronic inflammation um gut dysfunction stuff like um constipation diarrhea bloating cramping all of that kind of stuff um maybe the inability to lose weight some.
Of these symptoms that I’m going to be listing now are specific to chronic inflammation brain fog joint pain hormonal imbalances skin rashes headaches um those things right there if you’re dealing with those things gluten-free diet may be a really good option for you um and we’re going to get into um why I would say that but for.
Right now let’s just say that gluten itself is it’s inflammatory um the gluten that we have especially here in the US is very damaging to the gut and to your health because of how processed and how Laden it is with chemicals because of you know just how it’s grown um how it’s harvested how it’s processed those those three things it it has so.
Much in it that really honestly it’s not doing anyone any good um so but especially if you are dealing with things like chronic inflammation and the symptoms that come from that um you would definitely benefit from removing it from your diet because it is an inflammatory food now is there a possibility that you can.
Add it in every once in a while once you’ve walked through a healing process yes um but for a short time you would definitely need to look at removing it um let’s say you’re looking someone who’s just looking to improve overall health um or just looking to lose weight but you don’t really have any health challenges going on um gluten-free could.
Be an option for you um and mainly because I’m just going to revert back to it’s really not great for anybody because of the process that it’s put through um the the wheat that we have here in the US it’s just it’s not good for you um so if you’re able to order it from Italy um you know great because most likely if you’re getting it from.
Italy it’s um it doesn’t have the issues that ours does um so it could it could still be beneficial and some people say they don’t have any issues with it at all they don’t they don’t see any issues um if that’s you I think maybe an occasional eating it but on a whole I would say most people would probably benefit from avoiding it on a daily um a.
Couple times a day basis because really honestly if we talk about gluten um it’s in so many things here in the US and honestly like people are eating it more than just once a day more than just once a week most people are eating it at least two to three times a day if not more so um you know if you’re talking about the the damage that it can do to.
Your gut because of all the stuff that’s in it um you know think about that it’s a compounding effect so it’s it’s just not it’s not good for you so um let’s talk about grain-free a little bit okay so for people who are Celiac non-celiac thyroid disorder and autoimmune um so you can see on my little um on my document that I have here that I have.
Marked that it is case dependent on this for grain-free um you know there are some people who um who deal with these issues who can tolerate some grains um and if they’ve walked through the the process to heal their gut um and to get rid of the bacteria that’s in their system um that was due to the damage that was caused to the gut all of those.
Those issues you cannot um have those issues and not have some damage to your gut because they are a chronic inflammatory condition um and so there needs to be a process that you walk through to heal the gut and then once you’re past that you may be able to tolerate grains um and and I’m talking about grains not gluten because there.
Are there are gluten gluten products that actually are a grain product so what I’m talking about is gluten-free grains um we’re talking about stuff like brown rice and quinoa um those kind of those kind of grains those can be um beneficial and they can be um you know nutrients that your body benefits from um but it really.
Is going to be case dependent because there are some people who deal with those things who still can’t tolerate grains and so that’s really it really is going to be a matter of learning to listen to your body and figuring out what your body can handle okay um now let’s just go down the line if you’re dealing with the chronic inflammatory.
Symptoms that we talked about with gluten-free um you know then you are likely going to benefit from a time period of walking through grain-free okay um so let’s move on to low to no carb okay if you are any of these things Celiac thyroid autoimmune chronic inflammatory all of these things the thing is is it may be necessary for you.
To improve or eliminate your symptoms to go to a low to no carb diet and the reason for this is that um most people who are dealing with those those issues like I referenced before dealing with gut issues and if you have gut issues which are likely caused by leaky gut um you have bacteria that’s been leaked into your system and for you to be able.
To heal that up you need to eliminate certain foods that are one feeding the bacteria and two causing more inflammation which is causing more damage to the gut so um it may be necessary for a time period um but here’s the thing is that you know it is not something loaded no carb is not something that I would say say is.
Sustainable it’s not something that I would say Do For Life um really it’s used for a purpose and that is solely to bring healing to the body and then once those symptoms have been eliminated goal is always to work your way back up to nutrient-dense foods that have carbs that are necessary for your body to function optimally okay so this is just.
