Delightfully Fluffy and Wholesome: A Guilt-Free Morning Treat!
Hey, welcome back. Today we’re going to be making some banana oat uh pancakes. They’re gluten-free, and the great thing about them is they’re made in a blender. So, they’re like one dish um pancakes, which makes prep super easy, and it also makes clean up super easy. So, let’s get started. The ingredients that you’re going to grab are oats. And you’ll want.
To make sure um if you’re really sensitive to gluten-free that they specifically say gluten-free. Oats don’t have uh gluten in them, but some are made in a facility uh with other things that have wheat in them. So, make sure that you have gluten-free oats. We want baking powder,.
Salt, maple syrup, vanilla, vinegar, cinnamon, milk of your preference. This is uh cow’s milk, but you could use oat milk, coconut milk, almond milk, you name it. We want two ripe.
Bananas. And then we’re ready to get going. When my son found out that he had um so many allergies, I think he had 16 at one point in time, um it was just really overwhelming to try and figure out things that he could eat that other kids were eating, such as like pancakes or waffles or snacks or whatnot. And this.
Is one that we really came to enjoy as a family, even the ones that um can eat gluten. And it’s very easy, like I mentioned, prep work in one container, one container to wash. We’re going to start with two cups of oats. You can go ahead and throw that in your.
Blender. You can get old-fashioned oats. I actually use steel cut oats that I blended up to be more of a flour. Go ahead and throw that in. This uh specific recipe probably makes about six bigger pancakes, 10 mediumsiz pancakes. We’re going to throw in a half a teaspoon of.
salt. While we’re at it, we’ll throw in a/ teaspoon of baking powder. I use this one cuz they don’t have added aluminum. So, Bob’s makes a lot of things that we use often. We’re going to throw in a four a cup of syrup, maple.
Syrup. We’re going to throw in 1 tbsp of the vinegar. This is cider vinegar. You’re going to want about two teaspoons of vanilla. Uh this is homemade vanilla and maybe I’ll do a video on that sometime in the future. But go ahead and throw about two teaspoons in.
There. I have 3/4 cup of milk. Like I said, you can use any kind of milk that suits your needs. And then we’re going to do a/ teaspoon of cinnamon. If you want a stronger cinnamon flavor, go ahead and add a little bit more. We’ll throw our bananas in there.
And go ahead and blend them up. All right, we’ll peel our bananas. You want to use brown bananas. are a little bit sweeter as they get softer. So, let them age for a couple days before you throw them in. All right, we’re ready to blend everything up. Okay, here we go. This will be a pretty thick batter.
We’ll grind it up and get it in the grill. All right, we’re done mixing. It ended up being a pretty thick batter. If you feel like it’s a little too thick, maybe your bananas were bigger, um you can add a little bit of extra milk to thin it out. All right, we’re over here with our.
Pan. I just used a little one. Obviously, you can use the big griddle if you want to use a big griddle. I’m going to throw butter in the pan. If you’re not able to eat um butter, you could use olive oil, any of the oils. Just remember, if you’re going to use like an olive oil, turn your heat.
Down just a little bit. Otherwise, it will start to smoke. Once the heat in our pan gets fully heated, we’ll throw this in. If you want a closeup of what the how thick it is, it’s pretty darn thick. So, this is a good way um to also sneak some fruit into your kids.
Diet. Maybe one of these days we’ll also go through a video of some of the different prepackaged options for pancakes and waffles because there are some pretty good options out there. Like I said, when my son um started having a severe gluten allergies allergy, it was quite a.
Learning curve for us to uh learn how to cook fully gluten-free. These ended up being really good. As you saw, there’s no actual sugar in them. It’s just the um maple syrup that makes them kind of slightly sweet. Uh which is also nice, too. No refined sugar. All right, we’ve got a pancake sizzling.
Smells really good. You can still You can smell the cinnamon starting to come through. All right, it’s almost time to flip. Typically, when you start to see the bubbles forming on the top of the pancake, you’ll know it’s time to flip. All right, here goes nothing. Looks great. We’ll cook it a few more minutes.
On this side, then we’ll dish it up. You can dish it up with more of the syrup that we used in the recipe. Obviously, our family likes to use a lot of butter, um, cinnamon, jam, whatever your family prefers. All right, we are ready to dish up. I’ll let you have a close-up view.
We’ll throw some butter on it. We’ll pour a little more syrup on it. And then dinner or breakfast or whatever you want to eat these pancakes for is served. Thanks for joining me today and I’ll be back tomorrow with a brand new video.
