Where Flavor Takes a Backseat: The Unremarkable Journey of GFB Draught
Well here we are again the heat continues I’ve got a beer here for you and it’s very plainly packaged the independent Brewery sign or certification on the back of the can is bit bigger than normal I got this one because it was 50% off it is a 4.2% ABV uh.
Gfb draft and I can’t show you the front of the cam because it has what remains of a sticker on the front of it but it’s put out by tubay Brewing Co full strength easy drinking beer brewed in a dedicated glutenfree Brewery that’s a big advertisement for the beer isn’t it um it’s brewed in Dr in.
Victoria and a art from its claim to being glutenfree it doesn’t much have much else to really recommend it uh it’s a three 75 mil can 4.2% ABV and I can’t as I said I’ll show you the the back of the can because the front of it got all the stickers on it it’s cold it’s got a little red dot on there now I don’t quite know what that.

Head that just doesn’t want to be there there’s the head as it is now it’s got bug carbonation it looks like I’ve just drained one of the urinals in the pub um it doesn’t look good does it full strength easy drinking beer oh dear oh dear look the head’s just about going already sniff but it’s got really there’s a hint of.
Malt there to be honest it it doesn’t have much smell but what smell there is is actually quite nice it’s got a a very nice mty smell yeah it’s very it’s very weak I’m not going to sort of you know go overboard on the smell but it doesn’t smell too bad it smells.
Okay and it’s glutenfree and it’s now head free all right let’s get it to go I’m assuming that gfb stands for gluten-free beer where they come up with the name for a beer or what should we what should we call our beer um easy pale ale um.
Double eye pit would call it actually it’s gluten-free beit let’s call it gfb I mean the people the boffins at this company must have really you know used their brains to come up with the name for this stuff it’s got a kind of grassy taste it’s got a bit of a bite a bit of this is second beer in a row.
All all bitterness and no taste you know look if you if you’ve just been on a 300 km bushwalk with no water and your sunburned so you look like a lobster and somebody parted the trees or the grass and said hey would you like a gfb draft you’d reach out and you’d drink it.
Without it touching the sides and you’d enjoy it and you’d say thank you very much and then the person that gave maybe the beer would part the grass or part the trees again and disappear and you’d never see them again and You’d Survive because you drunk one of these beers but if you’re at home or you’re in a pub or you’re in a.
