Home stopping at sadus tonight just to get away from town uh you have toilets clean usually very good picnic shelters electric barbecue and tables the grass is a bit long this week but grass grows very quickly um for those of you who haven’t seen our.

Setup This Is Us bug mesh um only just recently put a curved bar into my awning to stop it from pooling tonight is going to be the night I think we’ll get some rain tonight we’ll see how it goes and the ratchet straps well it’s just to stop it from blowing away but.

Tim there the two naughty cherubs what have we got here the remains of the old seratus raway station for okay see some pictures of what it used to be in the day there we are yeah ra bridg is still across the road.

Still Standing to this day all right so one night at sadus free Camp just north of idal on the burnout Highway not too noisy road noise wasn’t too bad it did rain last night we 80% dry under here which is not too bad thank you to our spreader pole which I didn’t have to get up last night and low the awning down and yeah so this morning.

What are we having you for breakfast pancakes okay what kind of Pancakes are they gluten-free pancakes uhuh so gluten-free pancakes and what do you have you’re going to put a thumbnail to the recipe in I’ll put a recipe in the description and probably a recipe up on the screen now for those those of you who are gluten-free and I’m not but.

Cindy is some of the stuff you get tastes like rock or looks like rock rubber or rubber these pancakes are fluffy um and really nice so and you have maple syrup in them so let’s get started now this is a camping variety so we’ve actually put the milk in the bag so we have our pancakes it’s a one and a half mix.

Um and so in that packet we’ve got we have to add we still have to add two eggs and 1 and 13 cups of water to the mix up the bag um it’s easier than adding milk if you don’t have it yeah and no other kind of bowls required at least that’s the theory so let’s see how we go Okay so we’ve got our little B.

We’ve got our pancake mix in there so we’ve got our lovely eggs out chickens laid at home and I’m going to crack two eggs into it one put a little bit of vanilla Essence in there homade Essence yeah yum yum.

I’m going to square of my maybe what the dog see oh another P while you watch me make these pancakes I thought that I’d give you a little bit about the history of seratus the seratus area is named after the Queensland lungfish which was originally only found in the mer River.

And the Bernett River the area was named in 1923 with the railway station opening on the 26th of April 1924 by September of 1924 there was one permanent settler in the area but around 100 rail workers that were helping to build the bridge and were camped at seratus the seratus station was used to refill water on steam locomotives and in 1967 there were.

No businesses or shops in the district and only one permanent resident and two Railway Cottages the station mistress also operated the telephone exchange which only had one service connected the post office closed in 1968 in the 2016 census s seratus had a population of 28 people recorded on the monument Australia website we find the following.

Information the railro the railroad station was relocated to its current location at the sedus rest area in 1997 as a tribute to those who built the rail and settled in the North Burnette along with the station there is also the railway station signal and other memorabilia and there is a plot commemorating the volunteers that help.

To make the move of the building a success the seratus rest area can be found on the burnout Highway also known as the countryway about 10 km from isold heading towards Monto the recipe can also be found in the description below
