Uncovering Hidden Gems and Nourishing Connections in Paradise

Kawaii has been one of the most amazing places my husband and I have ever traveled to and we’ve been to several countries in our time on this planet it is amazing with its Bountiful fresh produce the amazing fresh water and beautiful waves not to mention the gorgeous Wildlife that we experienced.

While there join us on this journey to Kawai with your change makers raising change makers who are neuro affirming celebrating our differences and raising this next era of change makers come on this journey with us today we love gluten-free dairyfree and we love any place that can do food accommodations so that is a piece of it as well we’re.

Excited to have you one of my tips is grab some food from the airport grab some gluten-free sandwiches we went to snarfs flying out of Denver and get ready to have some fun on the plane let your kids live it up and have fun we arrived and the first thing we saw were chickens it was amazing we headed straight to the tiki tacos and had the.

Kuua pig tacos as well as the Kahuna fish we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn at wua Bay which had access to the lidgate park pools right behind the hotel it’s an amazing Sanctuary space where you can snorkel and safely swim with your little ones there’s a seaw wall that protects you which really helped while we were there because there.

Were giant waves from a storm that had been there a few days before after arriving we hit the food right away for our sensitive kiddos and then we headed right to the water it was amazing our kids hopped in with their regular clothes luckily we were at the hotel so we could check in and get a change of clothes for those guys and we got up.

Early the next day to head straight back to the pool or the beach time we skipped the pool we didn’t even need the we grabbed our snorkel gear and we headed right out into the water the kids were so excited it was their first time snorkeling and they loved it so much we headed into wua for the lunchtime where we had shakal laffle it’s a not a Celiac.

Safe facility but it’s gluten-free and you can check with them right after that we had to go buy wua shaved ice again because that place is amazing and you can see by the giant you can see by the Giant shaved ice with the amazing coconut whipped cream on top we headed right back to lidgate park pools because it’s amazing.

And the kids wanted to get right out there after our beach time we cleaned up and headed to Opa Falls and it was amazing to see the breeze through these Lush gorgeous trees and the waterfall out there you had this amazing view on the way back down there’s a there’s a scenery pull out where you could look out over Kawai and wua area.

We then headed to the Kawai Sushi Station you guys I have never tasted tuna rolls like this in my life the it was a sushi chef that came from Chicago and he wanted to provide everybody with amazing sushi at amazing prices and it was so cool to be able to taste these tuna rolls out of a food truck you never would have known and they were gluten.

They were gluten-free safe we hit Costco you guys have to check out Costco in an exotic place there were pineapples and purple sweet potatoes we headed to bed and the next morning we headed to aene beach I cannot tell you enough about a n Beach it was a little drive up the road from wua but it was our day for Scenic traveling we could walk right into the.

Water and and sit right down it was so shallow but so much fun to play in we were celebrating our 10-y year anniversary so it was really fun to sit under Under The Canopy of trees and just relax while the kids played in the water it was really cool sometimes it rains randomly in Kawaii but we were under the trees and it protected.

Us next we went to the kilua fish market in the cutest town I would totally recommend this place they were gluten-free safe and we had fresh fish we then went by nourish honay the best asai bowl with amazing views and we headed to honay and went to the pier for the amazing views that night for dinner we went to hookala.

Laai it’s not dedicated gluten-free but it was delicious the next morning was our last morning we were checking out of that area and we have banana pancakes with coconut syrup and a p colada smoothie um alcohol-free of course for breakfast it’s a dedicated gluten gluten-free facility it’s Russell by eat healthy I totally recommend it you guys.

We had packed up and we grabbed all of our things and departed for wua Falls this amazing two to three story Falls you stand on the water’s edge and you just feel like you’re in enconto the movie it’s amazing the kids loved it then we went to Kawai Community College and hit the farmers market we had fresh vegetables amazing pulled pork for lunch.

And this man blew a conch shell and he said just clearing out the bad energy I was like no no dude you’ve got the right crowd right here after that we headed to kalapaki Beach and the kids loved watching the waves crash as this little creek was filling into the ocean it was an amazing spot so it’s a great place to um to visit the waves were a little bit.

Rough so the kids just played at the water’s edge in that spot we then drove down the tunnel of trees as we headed to PO poo Beach area where we were going to stay we rented a condo on Kiana beach near the Sheridan Hotel you guys the Sheridan Hotel is an awesome spot.

There’s a ton of vbos there so check it out it’s Kiana Beach where we say we stayed for several days we enjoyed the rest of our trip there we got a little hotel experience and then a little vvo experience we played in the sand we took our sandwiches down to the beach we did Boogie boarding and snorkeling depending on how how bad the currents were that.

Day we would kind of check and see if we thought it was safe for our kids most of the time it was always safe but I like to just play it a little extra safe being a mountain girl I’m not really I’m a little more nervous about the ocean right so we had a condo where we had this lenai area we could sit and watch the sunsets we had a couple of fresh.

Fish barbecue nights where my husband would barbecue fresh fish or we would barbecue some amazing steaks we discovered an amazing shaved ice place you guys have to check out fresh shave it’s adorable it has mustached themed shaved ice that night when we had our steak dinner sitting on the Leni there were these Madagascar geckos that would.

Come up they were tiny little geckos and my kids were so excited about them they were really cute they were bright fluorescent green with these orange dots but be careful you guys they get close and I started to freak out but my kids were like Mom it’s fine they’re not going to bite us we’re fine so we enjoyed several days on the Kiana Beach.

Our kids wanted to just play in the sand in the Sun for so many times so many hours spent out there there’s another Beach nearby it’s called po po Beach and it’s an awesome familyfriendly beach it’s also just like Kiana very familyfriendly with little waves it’s it’s wonderful but on PO poo beach one night after we had eaten our fresh shave.

We headed over to see if we saw any sea turtles and guess what there was a 15 to 20 year-old female sea turtle out there she had one missing back fin a reef shark had taken her back fin and she had survived and she was 15 to 20 years old so the the biologist told us that she was now ready for ma mating time and she was there to lay her eggs which was.

Really cool but my daughter was so excited you guys we went to the Lu colaku I would totally recommend taking the train and we got to feed Costco tortillas to the pigs and the horses it was so cool my son really enjoyed that it was um Costco tortillas by the way that was hilarious but they um at the luau they were really really good about.

Gluten-free they allowed our family to walk through the buffet before anybody else ate we were the first ones to go through to help with cross-contamination if that’s something you’re worried about and they also allowed us to go through the dessert line before everybody else went through and they had gluten-free options it was an amazing lour it had a.

Story which was really helpful for my six-year-old and my nine-year-old they really wanted something to keep them actively engaged so I totally recommend that luau and one really fun thing is they go through the audience and they grab somebody so do not be embarrassed if you want to let your spirit shine through jump up and start dancing with.

Them later on the person that I danced with when I lived in my heartfelt moment my spirit moment he was the flamethrower you guys he was holding the flame and juggling it I was like that’s the the guy that I danced with one night we had anat’s tie food out of a food truck in po poo Beach and it was super helpful to get gluten-free options they didn’t have.

The gluten-free options in the WEA side with the same food truck but the PO poo beach side was super tasty and glutenfree we went to the sprouting horn Park which has a blow horn our kids I’ve never seen one even in my 40 years of life we went at Sunset which was about 7:30 in June and we saw this blow horn it was amazing it it created this.

Rainbow effect with the light and the sun shining through at Sunset it was beautiful a second night we went a different time cuz we really wanted to see the high tide was higher that day so we really got to see it Blow the water a lot higher and there was a sea turtle and a seal there we were so excited we were telling our kids what they that.

They were friends they loved it one of our big days we got up super early or just at a normal time about 7:30 we had breakfast and at 8:30 we departed for WEA Canyon it is a beautiful area you have to get up to the puu lookout you go up the canyon Cliff Trail you or you go up to the puu lookout and you can have picnic lunch at the puu lookout area you.

Want to make sure to get to the top Lookout before the clouds roll in because if you come in that afternoon the clouds are there and it it it blocks half of that view so it’s really important to get up there super early to get your view in and then once you hit the highest point you can go to all the Lookouts and the pullouts along the way.

Back down ow nature Loop was really neat on the way down there was a um Native gentleman there he was talking about how uh kaai was created and some of the history of the land which was really cool you happened to be there and then my kids loved the red dir waterfall it was really neat to watch this area that felt like we were walking on Mars my son.

I don’t know about your kids but my son is super into space and he’s really excited about Mars and all of that the Mars rover so he felt like he was walking in this Red Dirt area it had amazing views of the water too after that we decided to head over to Leu to go back to the Kawai Sushi Station for sushi once again again those tuna rolls.

Are to die for so just look it out you guys check it out give yourself a couple of times at that Sushi Station if you can because it’s amazing kids loved kok’s Paradise for dinner I’d recommend making reservations it’s a gluten-free they have amazing breaded fish um my husband loved it I think he had mahi mahi breaded fish it was gluten-free.

Breading which he was so excited about and that was another night that we went by the blo hole and saw the animals in the water it was it was amazing to see sea turtle the next day I needed a break from sitting on the beach and playing in the water so we decided to go to makahi Cave reserve the makahi cave.

Reserve was so cool you have to go through this Rock Tunnel which felt a little frightening at first but it was safe you guys I wouldn’t take my kids into a place that wasn’t safe but this was really awesome when we went through it it opened up and you could see this cave that was created um and our kids were so excited there was a geologist.

There at the cave and he was telling us about how everything was created and he was really great about answering my kids questions which we had a lot one thing to keep in mind is it says there’s a beach there but there’s a sign that says um caution for the bacteria and there’s slow moving water so we decided it wasn’t worth the risk with our sensitive.

Kiddos so we decided to skip the water which worked out because then we went by the kooa fish market oh my word I have never tasted a poke bow actually it was my first poke Bowl but I had fresh tuna that just melted in your mouth I can’t recommend this place enough I’m not even they’re not even paying me right I’m not getting I’m not getting monetized for.

This but I have to share it was so amazing I still have dreams about that Pok ball so my kids got luau plates which was really fun it had pulled pork and it was ring of our L hour the kids were really excited about it we grabbed the Poke Balls and from the fish market and we walked over to the area by fresh shave um Shave Ice it’s right in a part.

Of coloa where they have hundred-year-old trees that just create this canopy and these picnic tables it was one of my favorite experiences in Kawai kooa is an amazing adorable town with these cute little markets and um fish markets it’s it’s really cool to have some local food ingredients like that that night we went to the Japanese.

Grandma’s Cafe we made reservations which was helpful um it didn’t seem like it had a big weight but just something to keep in mind if you’re traveling in June the Japanese Grandma’s Cafe had also amazing Sushi it wasn’t my absolute favorite but it was really delicious and they had octopus on the menu which my kiddos tried and they were so excited.

About it I think my husband tried it for the first time too on our last day we packed everything up and we went to K Kiahuna beach for a little while what was really neat and I’d recommend is packing up everything except for the change of clothes you want to wear on the airplane your Beach gear and you can.

Pack everything up and check out of your vbo sometimes hotels do this check ahead of time before you check out but they allowed us to use the community pool that was associated with the VB and then we grabbed a quick bite at the shakala in W that was gluten-free before we headed home which was really smart because you know the snacks they give.

You on the plane are not super great thanks so much for coming on this journey with us Kawai was an amazing experience my kids are asking to go back all the time and when we ask where they want to go on vacation they say Kawai so I hope you enjoyed this journey peace out conscious parents I see you raising those change makers and doing your best.

As other change makers you
