Gluten-Free Delights and Celestial Delights: A Magical Experience at Ellenbrae Station

All right good morning welcome to day nine of our see you later enjoy safe travels day nine of our Gibb River Road adventures and here we are crossing back over the Gibb heading south back towards the Gib River Road to uh carry on our adventures we are leaving the Gib River.

Jun columbaro Road Junction uh where we’ve spent the last three nights just completely chilling out and we’re heading to Alan BR station um in the heading east obviously it’s only about 67 km away so depending on the road conditions I’m expecting maybe just over an hour to get there so uh they got scon there’s apparently a couple of um.

Swimming holes really nice swimming holes too so we’ll see you at alen BR station for all the adventures uh today wow that was pretty quick drive it didn’t take us long at all it’s only 9:30 I think we left uh camp at about 8:30 so um maybe an hour to get to the driveway of alen bra station but I tell you what the driveway the 5 km driveway.

Off the Gib River Road into alanb station has been the roughest part of the Gib River Road for us so far um we’re probably today we’re probably 480 km into what is a 660 km stretch of uh Gib River Road um you might recall from earlier on uh that the first 100 km of the Gib River Gib River Road is sealed and roughly I think also.

The last 100 km is sealed so we don’t have a lot more uh rough g River Road to go and I’m honestly telling you right now the uh the worst we’ve experienced so far is the is the driveway into alen bra station anyway we’re not far off we’ve got to be only 2 km off the homestead off the off the station so we’ll show you what it’s all about once.

We get there cool so we just parked up we’re just going to duck into the homestead and check in see what it’s all about find out what camp we’re in and uh we’ll M you on in we’ll get set up we’re going to I reckon just unhitch real quick and then try and find these hikes so we can get to these water holes and uh check them out before the day two wow.

Good news for all you celiacs out there uh the scon here they do gluten-free options and we’re told also that they do a gluten and dairyfree option so I might actually get my scun huh uh missed out at Bola but um there’s a every chance I might get gun’s here so we’re going to um fill up our tanks with water there is a water fill up Point here there’s also.

Some public toilets right at the um uh entrance right at the homestead as well so uh we’ll fill up with water make our way down to Camp which is back out the driveway the way we came in we’ll drop the van there’s uh a Sandy what do they call it Sandy water hole Sandy Gorge that we’re going to go check out it’s a 2 km drive back out the driveway and.

Then a 500 M walk to the water hole itself we’ll go check that out but there’s also a water hole that’s only 100 m walk from the campg grand as well uh they allow campfires and stuff like that too so we might um collect some firewood and have a fire tonight so this place is um shaping up to be an awesome night we’ve only got one night here and.

Then we move on but we’re going to try and make the most of it so stick around stay tuned cool we are unhitched uh I think we’re just going to have a quick snack and then we’re off to explore we’ll jump back in the car and make our way off um look Sometimes When We’re stopped at these places we only stopped for one night uh we don’t even put the.

Stabilizer legs down so we’ll see um if we’re going to be bothered when we get back um pretty nice look little campgr hey really big Open Spaces um you plenty of space you don’t feel crammed in you don’t feel too close to anyone there’s uh fire pits and stuff so you can have a fire uh and I’ll go check out the amenities block later on when we get.

Back and uh show you all about it ah that was an easy drive a little bit Rocky unit spots but we are on our way we got a 500 me walk down a little Sandy track to get to this swimming hle there’s no other cars parked here so we might even have the place to ourselves I can’t wait it’s warming up it’s got to be in the high 20s now we’ve been having.

Sort of load to mid 30s for the past few days so being near water and being able to get in the water has been Paramount so anyway off we go cute little track we built a.

Bridge well that was a nice swim down in the water hle but uh we’re back at camp and we just going to go for the short walk and check out the water hole the local water hole but we thought we’d stop in and check out these amenities look at this hey check out the blue bar that’s super cool huh.

All with the natural rock and stuff I love it we’ll be back here tonight for sure wo wo wo wo.

Wo yeah
