Welcome back to my channel so today I wanted to do a recipe and I wanted to do glutenfree dairyfree Nan breads so if you have a gluten intolerance or um a dairy intolerance then these are really good so I wanted to go through step by step how to make them and even if you don’t have a gluten intolerance you can just switch this out and use normal.
Wheat flour and then we’re going to fry them on our cast iron skillet and then we’re going to make a garlic and parsley butter to go on top of the nine breads so first we’re going to need dairyfree spread okay so margarine anything that does not have contain lactose this is a lactose free.
Spread then we’re going to use glue gluten-free flour so you can use any gluten-free flour or like I said if you don’t want to make these gluten-free you can use normal flour these are also going to be yeast-free as well because I sometimes react to the yeast and um baking products and things um not all yeast but I just in this case I just.
Don’t even use any yeast and they still turn out really light and fluffy and really bready okay so then we’re going to use salt as well and a little bit of brown sugar or just any Ty of sugar okay so I’m not really pafic about how much I use I estimate every time I make them but for for this batch we’re going.
To make the equivalent to two n breads so I would use 50 g of the spread it doesn’t have to be melted because we are going to mix it in with the flour then we’re going to do sprinkle of salt about a teaspoon and then we’re also going to do about teaspoon of sugar I always just.
Estimated it okay but teaspoon of salt teaspoon of sugar 50 g of your dairyfree spread butter now we’re going to do two cups of gluf free flour so this is going to make the equivalent to two n breads two decent size.
NS so I’m estimating here but this is what the recipe would be two cups okay then we want to get our mixture and a spoon and we are going to mix in the sugar the salt and the spru into the flour and you can use your hands as well if you want sometimes when it gets down.
To the last part of the mixing I will use my hands depending if I can get all of the butter mixed into the flour so you want it starting to look crumbly like this okay and you want to mix in the dairyfree spread dairyfree butter or margarine.
Into the flour as much as you can so that it goes crumbly like this and the spread or the butter that you use in this recipe um is going to determine the softness and the fluffiness of the N bread when it’s cooked okay so that’s pretty much done so you’re going to have a crumbly consistency like.
This now we’re going to add the water in and we’re going to add that slowly small parts until we start to form a dough to usually it always goes a little bit moist bit more moisture than Dey to begin with so then I always.
Add more flour in because it is going to go a little bit sticky especially if you do choose to use the glutenfree flour which is usually a rice flour so you’re going to want to get it a bit more thicker and a bit more doughy and towards the end we use our hands.
So the consistency is still a little bit a little bit wet but this is how we want it okay because this is what’s going to give our n breed the fluffiness so we’re going to add a bit more flour in till we get that nice dough that we can work with I’m going with my.
Hands and we’re just going to move it around and soak up all that moisture remember the butter is kind of the main ingredient that gives it the softness gives the N breeds the softness okay so now we’re starting to get.
To a nice dough consistency okay so now we have a dough consistency and it’s quite soft easy to work with okay so here’s our dough this is going to make two n breads now we’re going to put that aside and I’m going to show you how to make the garlic and parley.
Butter so wash off the dough and we’re going to get my famous most used kitchen tool and it is a Crusher okay so we can Crush lots of things in here now I have these garlic so we just grab a whole clove of garlic here and we are going.
To cut it in half we’re going to use about half of a small clove of garlic okay going to peel that off so it’s like this okay then we’re just going to cut it into small pieces so that we can grind it up in here and what I like about these n breads too is that the more you get used.
To making them they’re really quick and easy to make um at home okay so here’s our garlic in here and we’re going to crush up our garlic may get a few little bits that try to come out but work with it so smash your garlic up grind it up until it.
Is fine I like to have my garlic butter on the nuns a little bit chunky so our garlic is going to look a little bit like this we can crush it up more if you want I like to have it quite thick so I can really taste the garlic then we’re going to add in a little bit of.
Salt4 of a teaspoon we’re going to get some fresh parsley or dull okay fresh parsley or D whatever herb you like I like parsley corander you can use flex herbs any type of greenery okay and we’re going to mix them in this like that hopefully you can.
This is coming up clear in the video I know the sun’s coming in and then we’re going to get our dairy free sprad again and you can switch this out for normal butter okay I’m just doing gluten-free cuz that’s my preference so we’re going to do about a.
Teaspoon of that we’re going to mix it in here and then we are going to mix the garlic we going to mix it all together and we have a beautiful garlic butter that’s going to go on top of that boots after they’re cook okay.
So we still have our dough here and now we’re going to cook the N bre so I always cook with cook my n breeds on a cast cast iron pan cast iron skillet um cooking on cast iron is just really good for you and I always use just like a little bit of.
Oil on my pan here so I will turn it around so you can see all right so here’s my cast IR pan and we’re just heating it up want to get it to high temperature okay cuz the N breeds we want them to Brown okay so our pan is pop switch the.
Light on here move this out okay now so here’s our dough that we made before so we’re going to cut that in half this is one n bread then we’re just going to flatten it you can roll it out with a pen as well but sometimes it can take a long time and it.
Can get stuck and you need to get the flower out again so I usually just go like this flen it out and if it is too sticky add a little bit more flour okay while you’re working with it so we just put it like this and now we just put it into the pan on high heat.
Okay high heat because we want it to go nice and brown on the outside we let that cook for about 5 minutes on each side as long as the pan is at a nice hot temperature um it’ll cook pretty fast and if you are using gluten-free flour uh gluten-free flour also cooks faster than the wheat flour that’s just what I’ve come to realize with using um.
Gluten-free rice flour um and if you are going to use a gluten-free rice flour you have to sometimes trial an eror which flour is taste nice for you because some rice flowers can have a bit taste I always like to add the sugar when I’m doing these Nan breeds because they don’t contain any yeast and yeast.
Sometimes um you know it always gives us a nice kind of sweet flavor so adding the sugar and the salt gives a nice balance bance of a sweee salty nun bread um and it’s not too overpowering it just lifts the flavor a little bit so it’s just not completely Bland here is our n bread straight off the pan here so it’s been about 5 minutes each side.
But always just check and see if it’s round okay so we put it on some tin foil here because I always like to make two batches and have one with whatever I’m eating with if it’s lunch or breakfast and then I put my second n bread away and I wrap it in TF to store them okay so as you can see nice and brown on both sides.
Here now the garlic butter that we made we’re going to put on top okay so a decent amount have two teaspoons and we’re just going to spread that over the N bread here like.
This and this is just so beautiful like I have this with so many different dishes I have it with toner with beans with curries just beautiful okay so here it is finished and you see it’s got the thickness so I’ve used self-raising glutenfree flour and you can see it has the.
Softness like bread as well it is just so so beautiful okay and so this is the recipe um you can double it if you want to make more and then store them in the pencil here so what I would do is I I don’t want to eat it it will keep till later on that night or till the next morning and wrap it in the th.
Foil okay to keep it fresh and keep the moisture of the garlic butter in there so these are the gluten-free dairy free garlic butter Nan breads I hope that you have enjoyed this video and I hope that everyone gives it a try it’s so easy to make from home and once you get used to it it’s you can just make.
Them within 5 minutes and you can make a huge batch to last you you know all day um if you want and you know like I said just store them in the tinf and they will keep in the fridge and then you can pull them out and heat them up soam what take care everyone
