Crunchy Goodness: A Delicious Gluten-Free Fish Fry and Homemade Tartar Sauce

You will not believe how easy it is to make healthy breaded fish in a frying pan with a quick and easy Greek yogurt tartar sauce we’re dipping your favorite white fish in tapioca flour egg and gluten-free breadcrumbs or almond flour along with some simple but flavorful spices and herbs and then it only takes.

A few minutes to pan fry them in a little bit of oil to crispy Perfection then they can be served with my healthy Greek yogurt tartar sauce with fresh lemon relish mustard garlic and Dill we’re going to start by prepping our fish and you can use any white fish you like including Cod and tilapia I’m going to go ahead and use some cod I purchased.

The Cod Frozen and then allowed it to thaw in my fridge took the pieces out and then I spread them out on some paper towels and blotted them dry and then depending on the shapes of the fish fillets we can cut them down to an optimal size for frying so with this type of piece we can tell that this section already wanted to break off so.

We’ll go ahead and let that be its own section and then I’ll go ahead and cut this piece so that it’s been divided into thirds with this fillet we have the option of either cutting it down the length to get two very long narrow pieces or we could cut it down the width and get several shorter pieces for variety I’ll go ahead and just cut it.

Down the length and then with this filet we can see that it’s fairly thin on this end and then we have a little split here so I’m going to go ahead and cut that off we want the thickness to be fairly even on each piece that we cut so I’m going to go ahead and cut kind of a square piece right along here and then with this section I can tell that this.

Third is wanting to break off so I’m going to go ahead and cut it right down that natural braake line I’ll have to be very delicate with that one and then I’ll cut this piece along the width so now that our fish pieces are cut and ready to go we can prepare our breadcrumbs for the breading on the fish you can use either gluten-free.

Breadcrumbs or almond flour I like to use half of each so I’m going to add half a cup of some gluten-free breadcrumbs as well as half a cup of some almond flour into my bowl and then for seasonings I’m going to add 1 teaspoon of garlic powder 1 teaspoon of paprika 1 teaspoon of onion powder one teaspoon of salt and then you can add in.

About e/ of a teaspoon of Pepper or I’m adding in half a teaspoon of some lemon pepper and then we’ll just stir this together till it’s well combined now to get this delicious breading to stick to our fish we want to First dip it in some tapioca flour and then into an egg wash and then into our breaded mixture so I’m going to add about 13 a cup of some.

Tapioca flour to my first Bowl and then I’ll crack one egg into my second bowl and quickly whisk it together and then I’ll dump some of the breadcrumbs into a shallower bowl that makes a little bit easier for dipping the fish now to make this as nice and neat as possible you’ll want to assign one hand as the egg dipping hand and the other hand as the.

Dry mixture hand so I’ll start by putting a piece of fish in the tapioca flour and just make sure it’s coated on all sides and then my left hand which will be the egg dipping hand we go ahead and dip it into the egg mixture and then I’ll let any extra run off and then drop it into the breadcrumbs and then my dry hand will come in with a little spoon.

Here and coat the fish with some our breadcrumbs and then I’ll return it to my cutting board and then we’ll repeat for the remaining fish well I’ve breaded all of my fish pieces and they look fantastic so now we’re ready to pan fry them to cook the fish you can use any sturdy fried pan I’m using my hexclad hybrid pan and we’re going to bring it.

To medium high heat and then pour in about a/4 a cup of some light olive oil and then as soon as it’s nice and warm we can begin to lay in our fish and that instant Sizzle is exactly what we want to see and then after about 30 seconds to a minute we’ll check the bottom side of the fish and as soon as it starts to turn a golden brown we want to rotate.

The fish to the next side and we’ll do that for all the fish in the pan and then as soon as that side is golden brown we’ll continue to rotate it until it is golden brown all the way around then we’ll take the cooked piece of fish out of the pan and set it on a plate that’s been lined with a paper towel and then we’ll continue until all of our.

Fish are pan fried I love this method because the fish are cooked in a very shallow layer of oil which means we get tons of flavor without unnecessary fat now that our fish is perfectly golden and crispy we’ll go ahead and set it aside while we make our tartar sauce to make the tartar sauce we’re going to start with half a cup of Greek yogurt.

And then we’re going to add a four a cup of mayonnaise and this is my homemade mayonnaise and I included a link in the video description below to the recipe showing how easy it is to make now we’re adding 1 tbspoon of sweet Relic 1 tbsp of lemon juice 1 tpoon of Dijon mustard 1 tasp of garlic powder 1 tpoon of dried dill you can also use fresh a.

Four a teaspoon salt and a few dashes of pepper then we’ll simply mix these together until well combined now we have a very fresh and delicious tartar sauce so now I can take a piece of our breaded fish and spread on a little bit of our sauce and I love the crispy breading that’s on this fish but then it’s nice and soft on the.

Inside that tastes so good as soon as you bite in you get that delicious breading on the outside and the fish is just soft and tender on the inside and then that sauce comes in with just a little bit of Tang and a little bit of sweet that is so delicious and I love knowing that I’m eating something with clean natural.
