Choice Into Thin slices I get the pre-sliced cheese and I use about three slices which is probably a little over 2 oz is like 2 and A3 oce or something like that I’m also using Colby cheese you can use any cheese that you want Cut the Cheese Slices into small squares you do want to make sure that your squares are small and relatively close to the.

Same size I usually stack my three slices on top and I cut them in half and cut each half in half and then I turn it cut it in half again and again cut each half in half so that each slice is going to have about 16 little squares for a total of 36 small squares that’s the way I do it place the cheese squares on a wire rack then let them sit at room.

Temperature for at least 24 hours if you live in a more humid area you might need to allow them to sit for a little bit longer than 24 hours what you’re wanting is you’re wanting your cheese squares to dehydrate so they’re going to be hard like a chip that’s what you’re looking for so anywhere between 24 and 36 hours depending on where you live after your.

Cheese has dehydrated and it’s nice and hard there might be a little tiny bit of an oil buildup on the top of the cheese depending on which type of cheese that you use like I said I’m using Colby cheese so it’s a little bit higher in fat so it does have a little bit of an oil residue which is fine use a paper towel and just kind of blot a little bit.

Of the oil residue preheat your oven to 390° line two large baking sheets with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat place the cheese squares on your prepared baking sheets make sure you leave a good amount of space in between each one of the squares these don’t just expand and puff up but they literally pop while they’re cooking so they.

Actually move and kind of jump when they’re cooking as they’re puffing up so make sure you leave a good amount of space in between each one of the squares so they have room to really puff up good place the cheese squares in your preheated oven bake for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is Puffy and crisp once the cheese is Puffy remove it from.

The oven and let it sit on the baking sheets for about 10 minutes so it can continue to crisp up really well after the cheese puffs have set for about 10 minutes if there’s still a little bit of an oily residue then you can just use a paper towel and just kind of blot a little bit of the oil residue again it just depends on how fatty your cheese is.

It’s okay if there’s a little bit of a residue it’s not going to hurt it any if you want to you can sprinkle some dry seasoning over the cheese puffs you can use some dry ranch mix or dry taco seasoning whatever if you want there to be more of a flavor to your cheese puffs I like them just like this so I’m leaving them.

Plain you can serve these immediately my son says these taste like a Chee it to me they kind of remind me of moon cheese if you’ve ever eaten moon cheese if you do have any leftovers you can store them at room temperature for up to 3 days eat and enjoy and that’s a recipe of the day I.
