Indulge in Oxford’s Gluten-free Gastronomy: A Celiac-Friendly Foodie Journey!
Hey and welcome back to the channel living in Oxford I’m a Michigan realer doing videos for you talking about what houses are coming onto the market what houses have sold to give you an idea for price and just telling you a little bit about the area so today I’m going to do a video about.
My favorite gluten-free places to eat I’ve been gluten-free for almost 13 years not part of a fat or a trend I’ve got a little bit of an allergy not super Celiac so if you literally can’t have any sort of cross contamination or anything like that obviously use caution if you’re going to try any of these facilities that I’m.
Going to mention so let’s start here locally in Oxford one of the places I like to go get pizza from is actually sick Pizza they’re located in downtown Oxford and it’s probably the thickest crust of a pizza I’ve had being gluten-free there are some other places that have gluten-free pizza and if you’re gluten-free you know.
That some pizzas are just but others are good so sick Pizza my go-to is actually a Mediterranean pizza it comes out I think there’s like nine squares it’s a deep dish they’ve got feted cheese they spinach onions I think black olives it’s really good moving on to number two my favorite place to have gluten-free food in Oxford let’s see here I like.
Everything so I can probably just name off the gluten-free food that I would go eat Smoothie King no smoothie guys it’s not Smoothie King that’s place when we were growing up smoothie guys they do have a gluten-free hogy so you can go in there and get a sandwich on a gluten-free hogy and as you know not too many places carry gluten-free subs and.
That is some place that does so go in there uh the coffee shop that’s located inside the legacy center bean and Vinny they do have a gluten-free treat normally and the front little cooler section I think it’s a muffin um so I do grab that at Coffee connect sometimes with the Oxford chamber networking group and let’s see moving down the road in my.
Head uh the wings at homegrown Brewery the Homegrown Style they’ve got like chunks of pineapple and this kind of sweet glaze sauce on them I can eat those and then they’ve got a bowl there which is rice shredded pork those pineapple things I like and I think it’s got like a green sauce I think they have a couple other gluten-free options on.
The menu but those are my two go-to there um moving down Victoria so Victoria is this super cute restaurant more of a date night or a lunch date spot than a family restaurant super cute reminds me of a little New York beastro they do have some gluten-free options I’ve had the salmon there with vegetables and potatoes a salad I think.
Sometimes the soups they rotate are glutenfree and then they have a really good creme brulee that’s glutenfree moving on from there the tap um the tap you can get a glutenfree bun like a burger bun and you can get their burger their blackened chicken sandwich you can have on a gluten-free BN so those are all good and then moving.
Across the street the the ox has some gluten-free options I think I normally just get a bowl again it’s R like the Baja Bowl rice chicken cheese uh they’ve got a few more options there but that’s my go-to then of course we’ve got two Mexican restaurants in downtown I can have the chips and guac and salsa I can have a hard shell.
Taco H fajitas I normally actually what I get is FAS and I don’t do the the shell I just get the fajitas and the rice and the beans and the vegetables and then moving down what’s that a 24 Street Tavern they do have a gluten-free bun there I think they could have a better bun but let’s see what have I I’ve had a burger there I think I had.
Fajitas there in the other day actually that’s the option I went with that was glutenfree and then uh moving down to the tavern they have fish and chips that that are gluten-free now that’s probably wildly dangerous for gluten-free people to be having fishing trips at a restaurant I don’t think they have a dedicated fryer so I would really.
Caution on that but if you’re like gluten-free by just choice or it doesn’t matter if you have some cross contamination or whatever I don’t know of any other place that I could go and say I could have gluten-free fish and chips again I don’t know that I’ve tried it and if I have it’s a really long time ago but that pretty cool to go have fish.
And chips somewhere that are gluten-free and then what is further down the road there I think that oh well we Circle back to sick Pizza which we started the video with that’s it in Oxford for gluten-free like that’s what I have be bopping around town so um if you guys know of something else in Oxford that’s gluten-free that you love to enjoy or.
You’ve tried and it hasn’t been great or you’ve tried it and it was just like hey this is my jam please leave that down in the comments we also have a bakery actually brownie box uh that has gluten-free treats so that’s kind of cool that we have a little Bakery here in town that has some treats that you could grab again leave a comment down.
