Whipping Up a Dreamy Blend: Indulge in a Creamy Choco-Banana-Date Smoothie!

Hello and welcome back to another recipe episode today I’m going to be making a delicious chocolate date smoothie there’s six ingredients listed in the recipe I add a bonus 7th which is a shot of espresso because I love coffee and I love the flavor combination of espresso SL coffee and chocolate let’s go through the ingredients super quickly I’m going.

To start over here with almond milk I’ve featured this in so many of my recipe episodes this recipe uses dates as one of the sweetening ingredients I’ll be using four of these guys and they’re actually quite old I’ve had these dates in my pantry for quite a while I’ll show you in a second how I plan to soften these so that they don’t really take a.

Toll on my blender’s blades the other fruit that features in this episode are two very ripe bananas these guys have been slowly ripening on my kitchen counter and I love using bananas that are not frozen for smoothie recipes there’s 2 tbspoon of UN sweetened cocoa powder pretty straightforward there’s also 2 tablespoons of almond butter I.

Get the creamy variety and also unsweetened and then a little sprinkle of cinnamon just a/4 teaspoon I’ll be going over to my coffee bar I’m sure many of you have seen my little coffee bar station in some of my other recipe Vlogs so I will just use one of my Nespresso pods to quickly whip up a shot of espresso and throw it in the blender.

To go back to what I was saying about the dates they are very old very crunchy very hard like rock hard I would not bite into these the recipe mentions a super easy way to soften the dates so what you do is you take a measuring cup and you fill it up with water I just throw mine in the microwave for several minutes so that the water is almost.

Boiling and then you throw the dates in and you let them soak for about 5 minutes I’m going to get started softening the dates so I’ll just fill up my little measuring cup and pop this guy in the microwave for a few minutes just to give you a sense of how fibrous and tough these little dates can get if.

You just let them sit around here is what the inside looks like so my goal here is to really break down these fibers on the inside all righty the water is pretty much boiling that is exactly how hot I want this water to be and then I’m just going to oh my gosh jeez did you see that let’s see if I can uh get you a closeup of the bubbling.

Anyways we are going to let these guys soak for a few minutes my timer just went off for these dates it is nice to see them opening up a bit once the dates are pulsed down everything comes together pretty quickly I would say this is the most time intensive step and of course you can skip this step Al together if you buy Super Fresh dates.

And they don’t need to sit in hot water to break down let’s get this date water all poured out get a couple of Cups going in here all right here we go and then just start on a low speed these bananas you can tell are super ripe they’re very squishy just going to scoop them in super quickly and then get this blender going again in you.

Go little bananas so the only things left to go are the unsweetened cocoa powder unsweetened almond butter the cinnamon and the Shad of espresso I Just Whipped up the espresso pod I go for this I think it’s Italiana oh no it’s Kazar I’ve got this shot of Nespresso Kazar.

All ready to go I think I’ll start off with the 2 tblspoon of unsweetened cocoa powder I always go for a little bit more cocoa powder than what the recipe calls for because I love the flavor of cocoa let’s give you a closeup of this soupy looking almond butter it’s the variety where you have to stir it you don’t have to use almond butter for this.

You can definitely Sub in peanut butter I think I’m just going to eyeball the 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon finally the bonus ingredient then espresso shot so let’s get that in there I’m going to get everything cleaned up and just prepare to enjoy a nice cup of this.

Gosh doesn’t this look so good I really like my smoothies to be liquidy more liquidy than Shake consistency What would life be without chocolate and of course I will link the recipe in the description box below so you can try this yourself with or without a shot of espresso to make this episode a little more visually cohesive I went to my.

Local grocery store and got these disposable paper straws here’s your closeup of this chocolate date smoothie I also kind of like this froth that collects at the top it reminds me of drinking a shot of espresso or getting a nice coffee drink at Starbucks or somewhere else so good that is all for this this chocolate.

Date Smoothie Please go try it yourself also if you enjoyed watching this smoothie recipe video be sure to check out my beet smoothie Vlog yes I’m sure it sounds weird but trust me it is the best way to consume beets which I actually don’t like I just feel great knowing that I’m drinking a smoothie that has vegetables in it go and check.

That out if you haven’t already and I will be sure to feature more smoothie recipes on this channel thank you so much for watching cheers to halfway dessert hacks and wish luck with marathon training over the next 18 weeks I’ll see you Foodies in the next episode on this channel.

Bye
