Freezer Black Bean Burgers (vegan, gluten-free)

Let’s make some freezer black bean burgers to start in a small to medium Skillet we’re going to add a half large white onion diced in addition to 3 cups of washed and chopped button mushrooms or crini mushrooms we want these to cook down I don’t cook them in oil you can if you prefer them to be cooked in oil.

I cook them with a little bit of water or veggie broth and cook them down until they’re really nice and golden brown for the base of our Burgers we’re going to add a half a cup of macadamia nuts or walnuts to a large food processor and process those first so they’re the size of a really really.

Really tiny little granule of sand you don’t want them to be very large afterwards we’ll add our mushrooms and onions this will add a rich Umami and Meaty flavor to your black bean burgers so make sure you add it all in there additionally add our spices some smoked paprika brown sugar garlic powder.

Mustard powder black pepper and salt to taste all of the exact measurements will be in the description and process once more until everything is really nice and combined you want to make sure that the mushrooms and the onions are really well mixed and Blended lastly We’ll add 3 cups of cooked black beans to this blender portion you don’t.

Want to completely emulsify the black beans in your blender but you do want them to be mixed down Blended down to a relatively small size feel free to wipe the sides of your blender as needed but this texture with a little bit of some semi hole black beans and some really nice pureed black beans is the texture I prefer take out a large mixing bowl of.

Choice and add 2 cups of cooked brown rice or white rice you can even use quino if you prefer but I like brown rice in these and add 1/2 cup of gluten-free or regular bread crumbs this is completely up to you gluten-free of course is more gluten friendly add your black bean mixture in addition to a 4 cup of sugar-free barbecue sauce I’ll.

Leave the one I really like Linked In the description for you all if you’re interested in it my has been and I use it often and it’s a really nice sort of semi-healthy alternative to regular barbecue sauce with a spatula combine everything until the breadcrumbs no longer are visible and neither are the brown rice granules adust any seasonings.

To your liking by adding more salt more smoked paprika you can even add a little bit of liquid smoke if you prefer that really really Smoky taste but since I added a Smoky Barbecue sauce I did not do this I like to then cook my Patties on a cast iron griddle pan to get some really nice griddle marks I just add a little bit of spray oil on the top and I.

Measure out about 1/2 cups worth of the mixture for each Patty shaping it with my hands at times they may seem soft these patties you can choose to refrigerate them and they will get a little bit more stable but because they are veggie patties they tend to ear on the side of softness but I let them fry up for about a minute or two too I can.

Press them down leave them as is whatever you prefer and let them cook until they have really nice charm marks the first time I did this it did not look that pretty the second time I did it it turned out much nicer simply because you got to get the groove of it all and I don’t normally use my sort of griddle pan so it was nice to change it.

Up and use it so do this with each half of your sort of burger combination my burger mixture made eight large burgers which is really fantastic it yields a high amount a high volume of food and once they’re done cooking on both sides you can basically freeze them as is but something that I really enjoyed doing is placing all of the burgers on some.

Parchment paper so while I’m doing this flipping of the burgers in the background I cut up eight small Burger sized individual pieces of parchment paper that I then laid my Burgers on on top of this is really a magnificent hack because when you freeze the burgers they won’t stick to one another you can microwave them you can kind of do some.

Other defrosting tricks but this parchment paper hack really really comes in handy and it will make your life super easy after you’ve traveled if you’re looking for a really healthy meal and you haven’t had time to cook it just makes everything much more simplified so then you can freeze these as is and they’ll last up to 6 months in the.
