The Super Bowl and you guys know every single year I love to share football related recipes appetite ERS just yummy things to Nosh on while you’re watching the game and this year is no exception this video is extra special because it’s part of a collab that I’m hosting for your Super Bowl party treats and so if you want to see what all of my friends.
Made so you can get tons of football party inso make sure you check out the description box where there’s going to be a link to a playlist so you can see what everybody made today so for this video I’m going to be making a kind of hands off crock poot recipe which is great because you said it forget it and you have all that time to work on other.
Stuff the recipe I’m making today is going to be tight inspired chicken wings I love a high protein Nosh and this is going to be completely paleo it’s glutenfree it’s dairy free and it’s going to be really tasty so even if none of those dietary like methods interest you you’re going to enjoy these either way everybody loves a wing during a.
Football game but this is going to give you a fun exciting Twist on a flavor profile you wouldn’t expect so with all that being said let me show you the super simple ingredients that I’m going to be using today first things first we’ve got 2 lbs of chicken wings these were previously frozen they’re completely thawed now if you’re using.
Previously frozen Wings just make sure they’re mostly thawed because we are going to be cooking on low and I want to make sure that your chicken wings are thoroughly cooked before you serve them and obviously if you just have fresh on hand all the better 1/4 cup of almond butter I don’t have almond butter on hand so I’m going to be using peanut.
Butter it should be the same like Flavor wise but if you are paleo then you want to go for the almond butter because peanuts are a legume and legumes are not typically allowed on Paleo the juice of one lime I don’t have fresh lime so I’m going to be using about a tablespoon maybe slightly more of this natural lemon juice I really love how this.
Tastes it’s the only lemon juice or lime juice I found that’s prepackaged and actually tastes like fruit juice I like my stuff a little Tangier than typical so I might use slightly more than a tablespoon 1/4 cup of coconut aminos and again this is going to help keep it paleo and gluten-free if neither of those things interest you you could use.
Soy sauce instead a tablespoon of fish sauce this is going to give us a nice Umami flavor 2 tbspoon of full fat coconut milk half a teaspoon of cumin two heaping tablespoons of grated Ginger I have the paste ready to go here so this is just to make my life a little easier but you could just get a regular ginger root and Grate it yourself and.
Lastly some cilantro to garnish so first things first I’m going to take my chicken wings and this was 2 lb I’m just going to go ahead and put them all in here and you can of course kind of up this recipe if you want to just double it triple it whatever your crock pot can safely accommodate and now in a bowl you could do this directly into the crock.
Poot but I want to do it in a bowl because I want to make sure that everything gets properly mixed together before I put in with the wings I’m going to go ahead and mix pretty much everything else besides the cilantro so just to refresh that’s going to be 1/4 cup of almond butter or in my case peanut butter and I’m using the natural.
Stuff no added sugar no added flavorings so that you just get the nut butter taste into the wings this might actually be really good with some sort of like a spicy like heat element as well but maybe best to serve with some tacha or something so that your guests can add their level of spicy to whatever makes them comfortable our peanut.
Butter’s in I’m going to come in now with my lime juice or lemon juice and like I said I’m going to do about a tablespoon and a half but you could probably get away with just a tablespoon my 1/4 cup of coconut aminos whoop right in there and again this is a soy sauce alternative most soy sauces have gluten in them so even if you’re.
Not avoiding soy if you are avoiding gluten you kind of want to stay away or make sure you have a soy sauce that’s explicitly labeled gluten-free but in order to kind of skip all of that I just go straight to the coconut aminos it’s a slightly sweeter taste but it still gives you that soy sauce kind of hint one tablespoon of fish sauce goes in.
Next I love fish sauce in my soups even I put it in all sorts of stuff if you’re ever having an Asian inspired dish and you taste something and you’re not quite sure what it is but it’s really yummy it’s probably fish sauce my 2 tablespoons of full fat coconut milk go in next add some richness to the flavor and kind of round everything out my half.
Teaspoon of cumin I’m just going to kind of eyeball that but I know that I kind of want to go a little heavy-handed cuz I’m all about heavily seasoned food heavily spiced food this is starting to smell so nice and then the last thing I’m going to throw in here is my two heaping tablespoons of my pregrated.
Ginger this is also going to add some spice some heat different kind of heat than a pepper obviously but Ginger does have bite so again maybe wait until the end and taste the finished product before you start heaping on the hot sauce so now we’re going to give this a proper mix especially to get that thick peanut.
Butter incorporated into the rest of the sauce smells incredible I wish y’all had smell of this Vision right now cuz this is so nice Okay I’m feeling good about that so we’re going to go ahead and kind of evenly disperse our chicken wings make sure that they’re not too crowded in one spot just like fan them out some I’m going to pour that sauce evenly over.
The top to make sure every wing is getting some exposure to this very flavorful sauce don’t want to leave any little bit behind cover this up now and I’m going to cook these on low from 4 to 6 hours now once they’re cooked I can optionally put them on a cooling rack with a baking sheet underneath and broil them on high for 5 to 7 Minutes making.
Sure to watch them so that they don’t burn because the sugar in the coconut milk the natural sugars in the sauce just in general have a tendency to go from caramelized to Burnt really really fast but that’ll give you some added texture that you’re otherwise going to miss from the slow cooked wings and then all that’s left will be to top them with.
Some sauce from the low cooker garnish them with that fresh cilantro and we’re ready to eat I can’t wait to try these be back soon the wings are so tasty they’ve got that yummy like Thai Asian flavor as a matter of fact that sauce would be really really great on some noodles and obviously they’re like falling off the.
Bone which is what you’d expect with a crock poot Wing but um when you put them in the oven and broil them they do develop a nice little crust a little crunch to the skin that’s really nice they’re really delicious and they were very easy to put together so you do have tons of time to put together other dishes as well and not have to worry.
About them getting made so overall I definitely recommend that you try this recipe they’re so tasty as a matter of fact I could even see making this for a week night dinner with maybe some like drumsticks or even chicken thighs but with the same sauce serve it over some rice or some noodles so if you guys try this recipe for your game day I would.
