Wholesome and Delicious: Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free Scone Recipe

Thanks for joining our Channel again today we’re going to do another cooking Vlog and today we’re going to cook gluten-free scones so unfortunately they didn’t have any self-raising flour at the supermarket so we’re going to improvise and we’re going to use um normal plain flow.

and add baking powder into the flour about 2 teaspoons and then add it up to about 250 g so that’s 250 g of flour and baking powder now I’m going to add this into our Bowl add half teaspoon of salt then add a teaspoon of zamer gum which.

Will help hopefully make it a bit more crumbly of the mixture and the recipe calls for another teaspoon of baking powder we’re also going to add 50 g of castor sugar into the mix then we’re going to mix it all nicely together so it’s nice and.

Consistent and now we’re going to measure out 40 G of uh margarine uh obviously this is my substitute for butter you could use 40 G of butter also right this is a great time to get your hands dirty so we’re going to rub the butter in with his fingertips till we make fine breadcrumbs.

And there we have it a nice lovely breadcrumb texture now we need uh just one egg this is my mistake I put one egg and one egg yolk in thinking it needed both but the egg yolk is actually for um glazing later so it’s only one egg you need not.

both so we’re going to measure out 75 milliliters of milk in my case it’s going to be soy milk because it’s dairyfree and then whisk the milk into the eggs very similar to what you do with yor pudding mix.

next we’re going to add the uh milk and eggs into the flour mix and just gradually add this in and then mix it with your hands flower up a surface and a rolling.

pin we’re going to carry on mixing this with our hands until we have a nice smooth dough then we’re going to put his dough onto a nice flowered surface and then start to roll it out nice and gently until it’s about 2 cm.

Thick once it’s rolled out to the correct thickness we’re going to transfer it to a um oven tray that we’ve put parchment paper on it earlier next we’re going to put it in the fridge for about 30 minutes so it sets the dough a bit better so we can cut it a bit easier and after 30 minutes we’ll take it.

Out and then we can start making as uh scones so we’re going to use about a 5 cm cutter and hopefully uh keep cutting until we get about 8 to 10 scones out of it so once we’ve got so many out of it we can start reusing the dough and then rolling it out again and keep doing this.

Until we’ve got as many scones out of the dough as we can so there we go approximately nine scones next using another Eggo yolk I’ve got together I’m going to glaze the top of these scones so do it really carefully you don’t want the glaze going down the sides or they will rise.

Unevenly l so once they’re fully glazed we’re going to put them into the freezer for 10 minutes so you need to make a bit of.

Space that’s what I done one nice draw there to put them in so put them in there for to set for about 15 minutes so I’m going to set the oven for 200° as mine’s a fan oven if it’s a conventional oven you want it to about 220 then after 15 minutes we’re going to take them.

Out and then use the rest of the egg yolk and give it another reglaze this will give them a nice Brown top once you’ve added uh the glaze it’s now time to put them in the oven put them in the middle tray and then we’ll bake them for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown and here.

We go they’re all done and ready to just put on a cooling rack and leave until they’re nicely cool or you could heat them warm with some butter and jam or some cluttered cream and jam depending on your preference hello Gary hello so he’s made his glutenfree scones and here they are with.

Some jam and some butter on dairy free butter mhm see what I that you going to go in Gary all right quite spongy but all right hopefully
