Unpacking the Cost: A Deep Dive into the Value of Gluten-Free Goodies!
What’s up my friends today I have a gigantic grocery haul for you and it’s not gigantic as in a lot of different things but it is gigantic in the quantity of the things that’s because it is from Azure standard that is our family’s favorite place to bulk by we use Azure more for stocking up on things on a monthly to yearly basis there are.
Some things that we get from them that last us an entire year I’m going to show you what we got this month if you are new here you might not know that our family is gluten-free we also have eight kids so there’s 10 of us eating we live in the country we make a lot of things from scratch for a few reasons one it’s way cheaper um in today’s economy in the.
Cost of groceries being Frugal making things at home is just absolutely the way to go to make sure you have money to use for the things you actually want to spend money on and sometimes that’s going out the but for us it’s a lot of other things so cooking mostly at home one thing we go through a of is flour and with celiac disease we need a.
Gluten-free flour blend that we can trust to produce things that don’t taste gluten-free because nobody really wants to eat dried out cardboard e bread um so this is one of the best flower replacers it’s Bob’s Redmill glutenfree use it cup for cup just to replace normal flour in recipes and we have loved this this is the cheapest price that I have found on.
It so we buy it in bulk and hear me out you might not need to use use this much in a month maybe you only need to use this much every 3 months or 6 months but if you store this properly in an airtight container it will be shelf stable for a long time this is 25 lb and it comes out to like $58 even on Bob’s rad Mills website directly from the.
Manufacturer it’s a double that literally the price is over $100 for one of these bags so $58 for 25 lb is the best deal you can get on a glutenfree flow another thing we go through a lot of is pastas um we make a lot of different pastas or a lot of soups that contain pasta Jil is my favorite gluten-free pasta brand we’ve tried a.
Few different ones this one is organic I love that um they are also actually certified glyphosate residue free so that’s really rare to find I feel like usually you can find organic or gluten-free it’s not so easy to find organic gluten-free and so that’s one of the things we loved about this brand you can actually get this brand at Walmart.
However the price is more than when you go through Azure and buy it in bulk so we love the shells I love to make mac and cheese with this I love to use it in Minon um I will buy 12 boxes at once and it comes out to less than $4 a box when it’s like nearly $5 a box in the grocery store we also grabbed three so this is like a little cheaper it’s not as cheap.
As 12 but you get a little discount when you buy three at once um so I got maalo we use this one a lot too in like lasagna soup or sometimes you like I call it a lazy lasagna instead of stacking noodles and building it you just you just put it all in like a casserole but these little noodles look like mini lasagna so it’s cute anyway we.
Also got three boxes of spaghetti and three boxes of fetuccini if there’s ever a time where we can’t get to the grocery store or the refrigerator is empty and I need to come up with something or something quick and easy for dinner like pasta is always it so we love to just make sure our pantry is stocked with it see another thing we buy in bulk that we.
Don’t necessarily eat in bulk uh are beans this is a bag of pinto beans it’s a 25 lb bag this bag will probably last us 6 months to a year um we also buy black beans in bulk rice what else like a lot of things tapioca starch corn corn Masa so that we can make tortillas so we’ll buy those in bulk but we’re not.
Using them like the flower the flower we’re going through very quickly this we’re not going through as quickly but maybe every 3 or 4 months um for for beans and then this is one of my favorite Azure purchases this is vanilla extract and what’s cool about this particular bottle that has this dent in it is that I got 10% off because it was.
Dented it was in their Bargain Bin section of the website uh so that’s really like a great deal because this is about $100 however this vanilla lasts our family an entire year and like I said we live in the country we are making all of our things from scratch so we can easily go through six or more tablespoons of.
Vanilla extract in one day like making pancakes for example that’s about an entire 2 oz bottle which costs $10 in the store so if we did that once a week we would be way like spending literally $300 or $400 a year if not more on vanilla extract but I buy this and it lasts us pretty close to eat okay so along with vanilla we also get all of.
Other baking essentials from Azure like baking powder baking soda we get them in 5 lb bags that lasts us like I don’t know 6 months or more um it’s the cheapest way to get it and it’s Quality quality stuff the baking powder is aluminum free it’s not uh cross-contaminated with gluten so we don’t have to worry about that so we.
Love getting all of those kinds of things that just stay in the pantry that are stored up so that we always have them on hand in bulk because it saves US money another thing we buy uh from Azure is popcorn this is white popcorn they have like three or four different kinds it’s organic corn kernels then we use an air popper it’s a popet every single.
Month we buy cheese I’ve recently been buying this mozzarella because it’s a little more budget friendly uh I think this is like $27 it is a 5 lb block we actually got I got three of them this month because I intend to take one of them and cut my own mozzarella sticks instead of buying the individually packaged cheese dring.
Those things are so convenient and I’m not knocking them cuz we have some in the fridge right now and they’re great on the go but when our kids are home I noticed was it yesterday I was like man they they’re each eating like three cheese sticks a day this is insane they need to stop uh because the prepackaged things are always cool and it cost you.
More when they do more work for you they’re going to charge you for it so buy a block of it and cut yourselves one other thing we get now this may not be cheaper than your grocery store cheddar cheese but you need to remember that we’re comparing like for like with Azure this is a raw cheddar that means the milk was not pasteurized prior to making.
It um we prefer raw dairy when possible because it is full of good bacteria beneficial to your gut it’s so nutrient dense we have our own dairy cow we milk our own cow and get our own milk and we drink it raw um and it’s just one of the most like nutrient-dense Foods in the world so we try to buy raw cheese but it does cost more but if you’re looking at.
Raw cheese the same brand they sell it in the grocery store in like little 8 oz blocks again it’s going to cost you way more we prefer to buy the cheddar that we use to cut up for cheese and crackers often we shred it on you know in eggs or in what else I mean all kinds of things all the things just all the things tacos I don’t know baked potatoes whatever.
Whatever you want to put cheddar cheese on this is the way we prefer to get it and just shred it ourselves okay another thing I bought in bulk and these aren’t necessarily cheap but I really love this brand so there are some things I’m willing to pay more for especially when it comes to my children and things that I know are healthy so many yogurts on.
The store shelves are just like filled with sugar some of them have dyes and artificial flavorings in them um this does have sugar in it don’t get me wrong it has 5 grams of added sugar but that is a lot less than a lot of the grocery store ones the thing I like is that um they are organic they are non GMO oh they have 40% less sugar and the.
The brand in general just makes really quality products they have sour cream that doesn’t have any thickeners in it but it is still just like thick and nice like a you know like a conventional sour cream anyway so I buy these for um our youngest who is about almost 18 months and he loves yogurt but sometimes giving him a spoon in a bowl is just a mess.
That I don’t have time to clean up so Israel will also I mean all of my kids would definitely eat these but I usually tend to give the pouched food to the littlest ones as a quick snack on the go or whatever um so we have strawberry banana there were six boxes of them and I did get them 20% off Azure does sales every month on different things so some.
Of my favorite things I wait until there’s a good sale on and then I will grab um them I also got them in the blueberry BL berry spinach again 20% off and then the bulk price it’s a great deal another thing we buy there it is so hard it is so hard to find a like gluten-free like truly gluten-free no cross.
Contamination and quality ingredient cereal which I know that’s kind of an oxymoron cuz cereal is not the best like source of nutrition but we like to add protein powder to the cereal and then it feels a little more healthy right so this is just uh this is gluten-free Nature’s Path organic um they’re Corn Flakes they are sweetened with fruit.
Juice and I mean they’re really just simple ingredients it’s cornmeal and or yellow corn flour pear juice concentrate and sea salt that’s it and it’s all organic and it’s not produced in a facility that makes gluten or wheat product so um so we trust that our kids will be fine eating it this Pacific Brand we have loved every soup we’ve.
Ever tried from them some of them have gluten but some like the ones that don’t are are they certified I don’t know we’ve never had an issue with them they are just good you know like sometimes soups are really just thin or kind of blood and flavorless I’ve never experienced that the roasted red pepper and tomato soup is one of my kids’s.
Absolute favorites another thing uh I told you that I love the ny’s brand we get their cottage cheese too it is a probiotic cottage cheese whole milk 14 g of protein I’m not a big cottage cheese person but I will put it in like lasagna um and our kids love it on top of baked sweet potatoes we get six of these um cuz it’s definitely cheaper like that.
You can find these in health food stores and some of the like higher end grocery stores it’s going to be cheaper through Azure they just have like sometimes just the most random things I got this gluten-free sourdough starter because we need one more thing to keep alive and I don’t know how it’s going to go but you know we’ll keep you updated on that.
Process that’s a whole journey uh and then some almond extract almond extract in pancakes it’s delicious like I love it I also love sugar cookies with almond extract just give me anything almond flavor um I got some deodorant for one of my daughters I got the other daughters some different kinds last.
Month and then this is one of my favorite soaps I ordered it on a whim once for John it is a charcoal and Clay Det in underarm and body soap removes impurities absorbs oils it deeply cleanses pores and it smells like spearmint and I just really love it it’s spearmint and grapefruit it’s not like feminine but it’s not masculine it’s.
Just like a nice clean smell and I it works really great I love it um I also got some 6% hydrogen peroxide for cleaning disinfecting sanitizing things around our home all right so so all in all that is our Azure haul for this month I want to say it came out to 650 maybe maybe 7 something like that that’s kind of how.
We do it we rotate the things we need we’re not always ordering the same thing but we’re ordering in bulk so that we’re paying less overall and it works for our family it might work for yours too even if you don’t have a big family even if you don’t eat gluten-free um they have conventional like unorg items as well so if organic’s not your jam you can look.
Into those things but if you love Health Foods this is really really a great option for getting them at the best price possible okay so if you think you want to try as your standard go to the link in the description of this video you can check your location and see if there’s a drop near you once you sign up for a drop and create an account you can.
Fill up your cart use our code the Murray that will give you 15% off your first order of $100 or more and when I tell you Azure doesn’t do coupon codes like this is it this is rare for having that kind of a discount make sure you check out their Bargain Bin section cuz sometimes you get a good deal on something that’s just been like ripped.
And taped or dented or you know it’s maybe missing one item or whatever um check out their sale items and yeah check for your favorite foods and compare the prices again like to like and quantity to quantity and see if you can’t find some savings for your family
