Gluten-Free Road Trip: From the Big Apple to the Sunshine State

Hey there my name is Sharon mccal I’m a registered dietician nutritionist helping you live gluten-free with confidence and without the stress and we are traveling to sunny Florida my parents live down there it’s break and we are so excited to hopefully enjoy some warmer weather it’s raining there right now which kind of stinks but we.

Are ready to go so if you want to see our adventure and how we travel despite having family members with celiac disease then hit that like button and follow along where we going we are going to Florida FL Florida we’re on our way to the airport we packed snacks but when we get.

There we’re gonna have to find food right when we get to Florida because right now it’s all like snowy outside so it’ll be nice to be warm right yeah you’re not excited about Florida very excited you don’t see excited one of my top tips while traveling is to check out these new.

Stand type places if you’re hungry and need a snack I love that they have tons of prepackaged gluten-free options because you can check the label make sure they fit all of your dietary needs and I’m a big fan of that we found bars there’s Jerky like these Archer Farms just make sure you look at the labels and that they are actually.

Glutenfree we found veggie straws Harvest snaps banana chips so many things the only downside is the prices because airports are expensive so we really like to buy these snacks at home and bring them with us but if you’re in a pinch check out these places and my daughter really wanted to film me with the can of bubbly that I.

bought we flew Allegient Airlines and they actually had a lot of options for gluten-free snacks on board they had these Oli packs Tostitos fruit snacks Smart Food lots of really good prepackage options and they also had this tapis box that had grain-free.

Pretzels that were certified glutenfree as well as that it bars some hummus stuff like that and that price compared to the airport food really isn’t that ridiculous once we landed we knew we needed to find food so I opened up my gluten-free eats mat by Atley I searched for a restaurant that would be on our way back to my.

Parents house from the airport and I found this place called Fresh kitchen and thatly app reviewers said that it was 100% gluten-free so we headed through the rain to Fresh kitchen this place was so delicious and not only did they have this huge bar of food they also had some delicious drinks.

And all six of us were able to get something that we liked with our own taste and preferences and yeah these are our bowls and they were really good even my kids ate there and they both ate vegetables so that’s definitely a win to me and before I went back into the rain to go to my parents house I went back on atly and I gave it my own review so that.

People like you can find it if you’re curious to try this app the gluten-free eats map then be sure to use the link in the video description for a free trial we are running into Target to get some snacks hey come on it’s like super rainy let’s go.

Stop doing that with your feet so gluten-free food is expensive but I think the real crime is that it was $40 for a pillow case $40 for a pillowcase I just my brain $40 I don’t know maybe these are like the fanciest pillowcases I don’t know if anybody’s tried these.

Pillowcases let me know if they’re worth 40 bucks so maybe it’s worth it what’s your favorite cereal while traveling favorite cereal when I’m at home pretty bubbles but I don’t buy it for you no so you get it when you come to the store we got there my.

Snack blesser evil she’s like so good and if you’re new to a gluten-free diet instead of this you can get this which is a good alternative it’s also dairyfree so if that’s your thing that’s possible too Stu shells this is what happens when you.

Come to the grocery store yeah Buffalo St NE and cheese that’s interesting this is what happens when I do all the grocery shopping and you’re discovering all these things for the first time no it’s exciting isn’t it I’m going to go with the uh gluten-free Twinkies yeah get him all right we’re tired but we got.

Snacks and stuff Thomas that was what I got ollipop which is like my favorite Tyler won’t drink it but I love it and and I got a pillow because sleeping on other people’s beds is just rough and I’m just going to store it at their house Tyler’s laughing at me because I’m high maintenance like.

That very much and while we were at Target Tyler had to get himself coffee because we all know you can’t go to Target and not get Starbucks but for the record I did not get Starbucks he just was enjoying his experience where are we we’re Wy Wy watchi what’s Wy watchi um it’s a place where the mermaids live yeah it’s.

And in the summer it’s also a water park too it’s too cold for water park today right yeah no it’s not too cold but it only opens in the summer yeah we’re not here in the summer all right we’re going to go see a mermaid show yeah sounds good and a ranger show and a ranger show and maybe a boat on a cruise that would fun yeah all right let’s.

go all right we just saw the mermaids how do you like them mermaids are fun now we’re going to head to a ranger experience and learn about some animals my sister and my grandma are already there yeah they’re saving us spots at the ranger experience so we’re going to head over and we’re going to learn more.

About some animals that are native to Florida like peacocks like peacocks what was your favorite animal at the nature show the owl you liked the owl yeah did you learn anything new about owls um that some can’t turn their head.

Um a lot around because they don’t have as much stuff to do with no owls turn their heads all the way around except for the ones that are where at Harry Potter World yeah so thanks for following Along on my family’s adventure and be sure to stay.

Tuned for part two which should be up sometime next week um and yeah just to see the rest of our adventure we go to another Resturant Bakery yeah and it’s going to be delicious I’m pretty excited so if you don’t want to miss part two be sure to hit like hit that subscribe button and ring that.
