Whipping up Magic: Decadent Gluten-Free Shortbread for Claire πŸͺ✨

Happy Saturday everyone so here we are again I’m going to do another recipe Claire’s uh working to this morning so I thought I’d uh use my time wisely and do some biscuits so then get a nice smell when she comes out from my work hopefully fers crossed been a busy the morning this morning I’ve been taking all the um the rubbish to the tip from.

Uh the gym construction as it were so that’s filled my morning so this is going to fill the other half hopefully so as as usual I’m going to try and change a normal recipe into a gluten and dairyfree recipe so if you do want to follow it without the gluten-free or the non-dairy you can do that’s going to be just the same hopefully fingers crossed.

Uh sometimes they’re not as good as what should be I’ve looked to see if there’s some other recipes out there which are glutenfree and dairy free and there are and a slightly different ingredients so let’s see see you in a sec okay so I’m going to make some shortbread biscuits so it’s just three simple ingredients uh gluten-free flour.

Uh dairyfree butter and castor sugar so I’m going to start by weighing out 50 g of castor sugar and then we’re going to weigh out about 150 g of glutenfree flour put the flour and the sugar into a bowl and then we need 100 G of butter or.

In this case um dairyfree margarine chop the butter up into nice little squares and then mix that in with the flour and the sugar then using his hands we combine the both water the uh flour and the sugar and we’ll try keep on mixing this.

Until it becomes like a bread cumy structure okay once we’ve got us um bread crummy structure we’ll roll it together into a d likee ball so then we need to um have a lightly.

Flowered surface right this is where it seems to have gone wrong I think um it’s a bit a bit CLA it’s a bit um sticky it’s a bit it’s not doughy enough so uh I’m trying to roll it oh God it’s a right mess um I’m struggling what to do so I’m going to do some more ingredients I think so.

It’s going to be 20 gr of cornflour this is just a guess and we’ll see what happens when we put this corn flour into the mix so like I said a bit of a guess cuz I know cornflour is good for just like uhy drying things up a little bit more so put the 20 G of cornflour into the uh.

Dough and then just mix it all in nicely right this feels better it’s a nice uh consistent dough maybe still a little bit soft but um let’s go with it and see what happens so on me lightly flowered surface I’m going to roll this uh uh doughy Brey stuff out into about a CM.

Thick which is I don’t know quar of an inch uh and then we’re going to cut it into shapes oh don’t forget to pre- prep a um an oven tray with some grease proof paper so you can once you cut start cutting your shapes out you’ve got somewhere to put.

them so hopefully it’s going to be a special treat for CLA so I’m doing it in a heart shake shape so just put your uh stencil in and cut out as many heart shapes as you can or any shape you want to do uh and uh try not to make such a mess as I am um.

They’re not going to be perfect Hearts I don’t think I don’t think the dough is as good as it could be but then you put these in your tray and keep going and save this dough uh for getting more shapes out in a minute yeah keep rolling your dough out.

Until you get all your shapes and all the Dos used up really yeah so you need a second try it seems so I’ve got another try here with some grease prooof paper on just to make more room cuz I was worried that they’re going to expand out and just be one big short.

Bread once you’ve done that um get some castor sugar and put some marks in there which I think helps keep the castor sugar from falling out and then put your castor sugar over your dough once you finished with the sugar put the dough into the fridge they need to be in.

There for about 20 minutes before you put them in the oven while they’re in the fridge you can set your oven up to 15Β° and get it up to that temperature so we’ll work in the fridge let’s do some washing up this is the worst bit of it isn’t it uh I wish the washing up would have taken this long.

Long I wish I could have done it this quick so washing up and cleaning so we’ve had US 20 minutes it’s time to put the dough in the oven and you want to bake at 150Β° for about 15 to 20 minutes until they’re golden.

Brown so they’ve had what 15 16 minutes and they are cooked so we take them out of the oven and we’re going to leave them to cool for about 10 15 minutes so cla’s been working all morning so I’ve made us both a nice light lunch I’ve got just tuna fish and cla’s got a tuna fish and cheese salad with some crisps on the.

Side lovely and here you are love your lunch seems you’ve been working all morning this looks lovely thank you Gary apparently is going to bring me a lovely sweet treat and a flat white coffee I was working this morning um and we’re just about to here he is sit down and film AATA which we’ve not done for.

Some time for next week thank you that looks lovely here we go look at that do another a look in fact think think use your brain nice aren’t they thank than you car you’re welcome do you want to try one I we’ll do I’m going to be making a sound eating on.

Camera it is what it is you can’t into it the too chewy nice though yeah it’s a bit chewy but but nice I suppose it depends what you like is it um come around here it depends what you you like is it with short short bread some people like it a bit crumbly and some people like it.

A bit chewy so kind of worked maybe they’re nice actually I struggle to bite into stuff cuz I’ve got a bonded retainer on the bottom um cuz I had braces so yeah the nice those good yeah we’re going to sit down now we’re going to film our Nat for next week it’ll be on and we’re going to be talking about the spares Royal spares we’re going to.

Be focusing on Margaret Andrew and Harry interesting so we’re going to be for a good now I was going to pick Cy then and talk no going to make some straw P Jama no no Enjoy your biscuit and we’ll see you again next time okay see you the bit bye bye
