From Trash to Treasure: Transforming Sourdough Discard into Irresistible Gluten-Free Crackers on My Traeger

Today I have so much sourdough discard I thought we should make some sourdough discard crackers and I’m going to make those on the trigger Grill and bring you along this is a recipe I have never made and I am adapting it from Alexandra cooks.com her sourdo discard crackers I’m going to use this trusty KitchenAid.

To mix everything together first step is is getting a cup of sourdough discard into your bowl look at that beautiful stuff little bit of salt I’m just eyeballing I’d say a scoop her recipe calls for regular flour and Rye flour I’m going to use allpurpose Plus coconut flour today I have no idea how these are going to turn out it could be a flop but.

It could also be amazing recipe also calls for four tablespoons of butter here we go how do I get this this to look I’m hoping that this is about 4 tablespoons and I’m just going to use the same spoon and wash this container so I would say that that’s roughly 4 tablespoons because coconut flour can.

Soak up a lot of the moisture in recipes I’m going to only put about 1/4 cup and I’m going to do 3/4 of a cup of the glutenfree baking allpurpose baking flour this one is ANM gum free now we mix can’t really see my face but that’s okay um lightly flowed surface that’s kind of heavily flowered that’s okay oh there’s my daughter I’m I I I am.

In the getting my plastic wrapped ready wo oh no we lost a piece the consistency is actually really malleable it’s way less sticky than I thought it would be I’m just going to make two rectangles like that these are going to refrigerate for 30 minutes I just turned it on I’m going to preheat and just turn.

It up to it says 350 on the recipe but I’m going to do 360 because as you open and shut the trigger it kind of like goes up and down looks pretty good in there and I’m not doing any smoke or like flavoring it’s just regular pets oh it’s so C I have learned like when I’m baking sourdough I just turn it up when I take the lid off to get more of a.

Golden Crust because it’s really hard to get a Golden Crust in the trigger obviously because it’s got that Grill you don’t have like a broil option um so I just find turning it up a little bit helps so I’m going to do the same thing today with the crackers says that we have to roll this like quite thin.

This looks like a paper thin kind of consistency I am going to transfer it to the baking sheet and it says to brush with olive oil I have this some flaky Malden and let’s put this on the grill 20 to 25 minutes on the trigger it’s really raining now so we’re going to take a look at halfway.

Through they’re looking kind of like crackers a quick little rotate Moment of Truth oh my gosh those look good okay I just transfer them onto this cooling rack this one looks crunchy M that’s it for me today’s recipe I will write down below in the comments if you do like this video like share subscribe all the YouTube things.

And I’ll see you at the next one
