Conquer IBS: Navigating the Gluten-Free Lifestyle
Well hello there today I wanted to talk about IBS irritable bowel syndrome it sounds crazy that um I want to talk about uh this illness uh but I’ve had it for many many years now and um it’s got a stigma against because it’s to do with your stomach and to do with you having a bowel movement um so I’m trying to stick up for all the.
People like myself ladies men who have this issue and it is a horrible issue there are medication you can get from the doctors um I use bus capan which you can buy over the counter at the chemist uh bus capan works very well you can take one before meal um if you um if you say go to a restaurant and uh you know you’re going to have some U non-gluten.
Food um but um one of the things I wanted to talk about was um to not feel terrible about yourself if you do have IBS um it’s um a horrible thing for a man to have uh but I can imagine that uh for a woman it must be even more horrifying uh passing wind um I mean I mean us men we can get away with it with a little laugh and a snigger but even I.
Don’t want to you know fart in the middle of a restaurant I mean we we can laugh about it but there are places where it can be horrifying if you’re in work if you’re in an office um and it’s a horrible thing to have where um you feel ashamed of your body um you get bloated you start feeling fat from IBS and you get terrible pains from IBS um.
And of course uh you a lot of the time you can be stuck on the toilet for a very long time um but what I’m trying to do today is I’m going to tell you a few of things that helps me with my IBS um and things you can avoid um I’ve been a I was a chef for 30 30 odd years um so I had to leave my job as a chef um because uh.
When you’ve got IBS um and of course then you’re glutenfree cuz the glutenfree what you’ll find most people who are glutenfree it’s because uh it’s a wheat-free diet and if you and and a wheat is what causes uh most of the problems with IBS because what happens is your stomach can’t control the wheat and the fibers going into your body and.
That’s what causes the symptoms with IBS um and there’s many Foods um that that triggers there’s a there’s a trigger system with people with IBS um caffeine is one of the the main um things that that causes IBS caffeine um onions is very bad um there’s there’s many many foods which uh can cause problems and that’s why people with IBS are normally.
Glutenfree and on a weak free diet and this helps our stomachs but that doesn’t stop having IBS all the time so the question is what can I do to um improve my lifestyle um well unfortunately there is no cure for IBS um it’s just something that happens you can be you can have it when you’re young you can have it when you’re middle-aged.
You can have it when you’re old um I’ve got um I’ve got friends and family that have had IBS um and it’s come and gone um unfortunately I I my IBS came up came when I was in my late 30s um and and it’s just stuck with me ever since um but what you what you need to do is is um just really you have to learn to live with it.
Now I’ve been super super lucky because um I work from home um so I mean I’m right next to the bathroom if if I have an emergency or or anything needed um and of course it must be absolutely nightmarish for people who uh work away uh and things um what what um what I do and um is to not feel embarrassed about the situation and you do learn to live.
And you have to be strong and have a lot lot of Courage um to carry on with life because again it isn’t a very embarrassing illness for both men and women now what I do is I take uh whenever I go out I actually I actually have to have a a little bag with me and in my bag I got my Busan tablets um I also take um tissues also also I even I.
Even I even get to the stage where I’ll take a spare pair of boxer shorts in case of drastic emergencies um but the thing with it is is to not let IBS take control of your life you still need to keep on and live your life I’ve been running my business for 10 years now and um I had to completely change my way of life from.
Being a chef um which was which was my ultimate job I loved being a chef and I loved my food um and now I I had to I had to restart my whole career because of IBS um and now after 10 years I’m still doing my miniature painting business but of course it it’s you you need to um again you need to take every day as it comes.
Um IBS is a absolutely horrible Illness but you can live with it if anybody suffers of IBS who watches my show if you got any any questions at all or you just need a friend to talk to about IBS then just send me a send me a message my email is below this video um but I want to give a huge hug to every single person who suffers with IBS um and is.

The tablets to begin with and now if I if I feel the coming on I’ll take a tablet straight away it’s getting used to um a new lifestyle um it can be very difficult for the young it can be difficult for any age with IBS um but take it day day day each day as it comes to you and Learn by what you’re eat in um I I leared that um certain foods.
Trigger my IBS so write that down in the book If you if you know try all the different foods and anything that gives you um a bad stomach just write it down tick it off and then you can make a menu of foods that works for you that’s what I do myself I I I love chicken chicken I I eat a lot of chicken um you you can buy gluten-free beef burgers and that’s.
The other thing as well I wanted to quickly talk about is gluten-free food for your IBS is so so expensive and yet there is so much food out there that you can eat um if anybody would like me to make some videos on um the types of food that I eat uh for glutenfree I’ll be quite happy to make a couple of quick videos showing you all the different.
Just just again let me know in the comments if you have any problems being with an IBS diet cuz I can actually uh write you up um a couple of nice uh food items that you can eat uh like say using Peppers Peppers is a beautiful substitute for onions to add to your food because you taking because with with IBS you’re taking away all that.
Food that you really love like say the wheat um onions and these are onions of course is a main ingredient for Foods uh so once you take away that that those onions you have to try and replace it to give you that tasty flavors so please look after yourselves with your IBS um and again I am here uh and I’ve been I’ve had IBS for well well.
Over 15 years now um so if you do have any issues don’t let’s let’s talk about it and but don’t ever feel bad about yourself you are all absolutely beautiful people and you nothing to be ashamed about it’s just part of our bodies um and life goes on and I’m very very happy with my life at the moment um and if you have IBS don’t don’t uh don’t.
Take it to heart don’t uh get down just live just live and enjoy yourselves it can be difficult but you really are okay you you’re not you’re not going to die from IBS he’s just he’s just he’s just going to get on with life and enjoy it
