Decadent Delights: Indulge in Gluten-Free & Vegan Black Forest Brownies!
Chocolate and cherries are one of my favorite sweet combinations the first black forest cake I ever ate was the one my grandmother baked for one of my childhood birthdays I loved it so much it is the only birthday cake I truly remember from my childhood even though I had one every year I could still taste that combination of cherries chocolate.
And cream to relive that combination craving I took those flavors and turned them into a gluten-free vegan friendly Black Forest fudgy brownie this recipe is very simple and comes together quickly in a food processor easy peasy even if you are a.
Gluten eater you might be surprised at how tasty these little guys are let’s check them out for the ingredients you’ll need coconut oil black beans oats cocoa powder baking powder salt brown sugar maple syrup Marino cherries and cherry juice or cherry extract vanilla and almond extracts along with chocolate chips this recipe comes together very.
Quickly so go ahead and preheat your oven to 350° you’re going to line an 8×8 in baking dish with parchment paper I just tore off a sheet cut the corners down to where the paper meets the pan and the paper sits flush in the pan and then just set that aside to a small bowl add 60 G which is 1/4 cup of coconut oil melt it in the microwave for 30 seconds.
Or until melted our coconut oil is melted to the bowl of a food processor we’re going to add all of the ingredients except for the cherries and the chocolate chips so we’ll start with the melted coconut oil then we’ll add 425 G which is 1 15 o can of black beans that have been rinsed and drained 48 G which is 1/ a cup of.
Oldfashioned or quick cooking oats I’m using gluten-free and organic but you can use whatever version you have and as long as you’re not cooking for a gluten-free individual 10 g 2 tbspoon of cocoa or caca powder 2 g a half a teaspoon of baking powder 1 G 1/4 of a teaspoon of salt 28 G or 2 tbspoon packed brown sugar 79 ml which is 1/3 of.
A cup of pure maple syrup you can use honey if not vegan you could use a combination of honey and maple syrup I have done all of the above to enhance the cherry flavor we’re going to add two teaspoons of Marino cherry juice and this is from the cherry juice jar if you have cherry extract use one teaspoon instead of the cherry juice 1 teaspoon.
Of vanilla extract and 1 teaspoon of almond extract this may seem like a lot but chocolate has a very overpowering flavor this is amount of almond extract is not too much and then we’re going to blend until smooth and this should take about a minute stop and scrape down the bowl and you can see that it’s starting to blend really well there will be bits.
Of black beans and little oat pieces okay check out the mixture that’s the texture it’s fairly smooth you do have little bits of black beans and oats that’s just right okay so you want to measure out 75 grams which is a third of a cup of Marino cherries and then you want to chop them and then uh just pack them a little bit dry using a paper.
Towel which is what I did and so we’re going to add that much to the mixture and we’re going to add 107 G which is 2/3 of a cup of just regular chocolate chips if you’re vegan use the vegan versions they’ll be fine in here too then we’re just going to pulse this mixture five or six times just to mix the cherries and chocolate in the.
Batter okay they should just be mixed in like you were stirring them in so five or six pulses is just enough so then we’re just going to spoon the mixture into our prepared baking pan you can see it’s a thick batter just smooth it out you can see the chocolate pieces and the Cherry pieces and then we’re just going to.
Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top you could use shaved chocolate if you want pretty chocolate curls and do not skimp on the chocolate here just put if you like chocolate put as much as you want I do not have a measurement I always just do a couple handfuls and then come back and add some more chopped.
Cherries this is in addition to what we already put in the batter again I don’t measure this I just put on what I want and I love a lot of chocolate and cherries and this is just going to sit on top after it bakes so what you see now is what you’re going to see when it comes out of the oven yummy now that looks pretty good so you’re going to.
Place this in the oven and you’re going to bake the brownies for 15 to 18 minutes I usually bake mine for about 18 minutes so here they are hot out of the oven now the brownie batter should look firm to the top they will rise a little bit but not much now these brownies do not have flour in them so they are really fudgy we’re going to let them sit.
On the counter to cool and then we’re going to cover them and place them in the fridge for a couple of hours to overnight they need to be firm when you cut into them they are cooled they’ve been in the refrigerator notice the cherries and the chocolate M definitely Black Forest now we just to add a little cream I want you to see how easily they.
Come out of the pan once they’re firm and lift right out of the pan if you place them on parchment paper when you cook the batter so now we can easily cut them you could cut these as big as you would like I typically go for nine cut three rows across both ways okay and notice how quick and easily they.
Cut that’s the chocolate chips that you hear that’s a little crunchy all right they are definitely fudgy they are cool firm loaded with cherries and chocolate I could just spot the chocolate throughout the cherries throughout you can even spot the darker bits of black that is the black beans but it looks like chocolate any specs of.
White that you see will be the bits of Oats they are and fudgy they’re not cakey at all so if you want to serve these we can make these super elegant now I typically could go for them just like this I don’t really add anything to it I think they’re already Sweet and fudgy however if you want to.
Add a little Pizzazz you can use whip topping make your own whip topping I am just I just happen to have some cocoa whip so I am just going to put a dollop of cocoa whip on the top since these are gluten-free and vegan throw on some chocolate chips cuz they’re not chocolatey enough haha you could grate your chocolate you could use chocolate.
Chips ho I just chopped up some chocolate chips and then of course let’s put a little cherry on top since we want to show highlight the black forest look there because black forest cake usually has chocolate cherries and cream if you want to do a little bit of Marino drizzle you could of course do that and there.
You are there’s our black forest fudgy brownies this is such a gorgeous looking dessert and it is super simple to make so let’s take a little bite strong Cherry strong chocolate flavors that cream makes it really seem like the black forced cake I love the fudgy instead of the cakey texture to it to it if you like these flavors you.
Should really enjoy this I’m this is really good the cre on top adds that black forest cake feel since these bars do not have any flour to absorb liquid they will be a fudgy consistency not cakey in any way slice and store These Bars in the fridge for a week or so if they last that long they make a great quick snack to satiate a cherry.
Chocolate craving I enjoy these even if I’m not eating a gluten-free or vegan diet thanks for watching liking and subscribing until next time add some chocolate and cherries to your life and go bake the world
