Hi it’s Janina the gluten-free goddess thank you for tuning in to my channel where we talk about things gluten friendly and glutenfree and so today I had a craving for something Have you ever just sat around and said man I would really make some good Falafel that would be me the problem is for us folks who are.
Glutenfree we tend to find places that don’t make glutenfree falafal for one reason or another either it’s in a share fryer for my Celiac people out there or it could be that it is an issue where they actually use wheat or flour to bind the Falafel balls together either way no fun for us because we don’t get any but I found a place nearby me this is.
Jerusalem Bakery it is in Marietta Georgia and I called and looked online and yes it turns out balao is gluten free so of course I didn’t just get the Falafel I also got a chicken sha platter make sure you try the platters when you get a chance and without further Ado let’s talk about what I’m eating how it tastes and I’ll let you know if you.
Should try it so I ordered the chicken schwarma platter make sure you order the platter not the sandwich SL wrap so you can see the chicken schwarma is on top of yellow rice we’ve got hummus we have Baba Gan and tbuli now I asked them not to put tbuli in there on the Uber Eats app but they missed that part so please if.
You’re gluten-free or wheat free remember there is cracked wheat in tbuli salad have them replace it with either extra hummus or extra Baba G now all of this looks fantastic but of course the star of today’s show is the Falafel look at that so I purchased this for trying that specifically of course I’m going to tell you how everything.
Else tastes as well um but falafel in particular I do have certain criteria that I like to meet uh crispy outside moist on the inside good seasoning and all of that so this is when I’m hoping they’re going to meet the mark and as you see I’m pulling it out and it already looks and feels crispy so I’m excited about this also dipping sauces.
Tahini traditional for Falafel and then they have some sort of house sauce that I’m going to try on that as well I’ll let you know what I think so let’s begin with what I came for what I ordered this for was to try their glutenfree Falafel so let’s begin with that so let’s appreciate the crispiness which I showed you earlier it looks.
Crispy but let’s see what it tastes like I don’t know if my microphone picked up that sound but this is crunchy fapu it’s crisp on the outside moist on the inside and you can taste all the herbs it’s so well seasoned I think another thing that.
Makes this so great is the packaging right this came in a paper bag nothing ex me more than ordering falafel from a restaurant hoping it’ll be crisp when it arrives at my door and it’s not because they put it in styrofoam or cardboard closed it down then all the condensation got in there and you have a wet soggy mess that doesn’t even res resemble um.
Falafel in the least bit that’s not the case here they maintain the crispiness kudos to you Jerusalem for doing that now let’s try some of the sauces traditional tahini sure you’re all familiar with that smooth Smoky kind of the the usual that you get there that’s.
Good traditional to H this is the house sauce that is awesome I don’t know what’s in it but I was told it’s gluten-free it tastes like a mayonnaise base with some sort of like maybe some of their hot sauce.
Mixed in this fla tends across the board now let’s try the chicken charma at first glance when I looked at it it looked a little dry you can see that there let’s see if that’s the case when I taste it that’s not.
Dry in fact it’s moist and tender which is hard to do with a chicken breast it’s well seasoned and there’s just a slight Char on the edge of it from the grill that you can taste perfectly cooked and it’s on top of yellow rice as I showed you in the beginning of the video so let’s try the.
Rice they really have a hit here some places you go the rice is over seasoned or not seasoned at all you know and then if it’s over seasoned it just fights with the flavors of the chicken not the case here that’s perfectly balanced they season that in a way to where you can put the meat on top top and not feel like you’re eating an entire container.
Of salt like it is perfectly balanced now as everyone knows yes I’m gluten-free one thing they don’t offer is the gluten-free pita or an option for it so you could get maybe sliced cucumbers or something like that maybe but I’m just going to try their hummus or humus as um I’ve been informed I should be pronouncing it humus I’m going.
To try it with Fork mhm that’s delicious it’s creamy it’s flavorful and if you think back to the earlier video where I showed you everything on my plate they use real suac powder okay not a bunch of American.
Paprika sprinkled on top that is that deep almost burgundy color just burgeoning on purple actually that’s the real sumac I mean the fresh hers on top the the olive oil everything on this it’s just right if they had gluten- fore Peter I’d be over the moon but that’s.
Okay now earlier I also showed you my full plate I put in Uber eats no toui salad I’m allergic to wheat and gluten somehow they got Lost in Translation on an Uber eat so if you go make sure if you order a schwarma plate a chicken schwarma plate that you ask them for no to bully and uh you can just get an extra side of hummus in place of it or.
Extra babagan I’m not a babagan person but for this video I’m going to try it m that’s really good the flavor notes in that are just amazing now don’t get me wrong I don’t eat Baba Gan because I don’t like eggplant uh the issue is I.
Actually have a histamine intolerance which is the underlying cause of my gluten intolerance so I try to eat it just in moderation I can actually end up getting headaches and I so well from that so that tends to be an issue in that regard but just from every now and then that’s a wonderful.
Option well all I can say is T across the board for Jerusalem if you want excellent gluten-free Falafel if you want excellent schwarma chicken schwarma uh the yellow rice the hummus all of those things Baba Gan go for it just remember to avoid the tabuli or any of their sandwiches they don’t have gluten-free bread or gluten-free peas of.
Any kind or gluten-free wraps so go for the platters that have the kebabs and the schwarma on them and the lamb and whatever Seafood you have but please visit them Jerusalem and Marietta Georgia they get it right all right that’ll do it for me the gluten-free goddess I’ll see you next time bye-bye.
