Unveiling Love: A Delightful Gluten-Free Surprise Inside Every Slice!

This gluten-free hidden heart cake looks super impressive but it’s actually surprisingly easy to make let me show you how to make it because it’s the perfect Valentine’s Day gift or it’s a great baking activity for kids during the half term or the holidays to start off with we’re going to make the pink sponge for the hearts to do this you.

Just need to cream together some butter some sugar and some vanilla extract or you can use a different flavor if you like but I like to keep it classic once you’ve done this add in your eggs then we’re going to whisk that together briefly and then add in some gluten-free self-rising flour and some ground almonds now the full recipe link for.

This is down below and I have included step-by-step photos so hopefully that along with this video will help show you how easy it is to make this heart cake once you’ve whis together all the ingredients I’m going to add a little bit of milk in just to loosen the sponge a little bit we don’t want it too runny I just want it to be pourable and then.

I’m going in with my pink food coloring now some food colorings do contain gluten and I will link Down Below in the description the food col that I use I use them all the time they’re glef free and they create the most vibrant amazing colors look at just look at that pink that is going to really pop inside this chocolate cake now once you’ve mixed.

That all up we’re going to bake this in a square baking tin so line your baking tin and my little handy hack is to use pegs to hold the sides up this just stops the baking paper getting in the way when you’re trying to pour the batter into the cake pan just don’t forget to take the pegs off in the oven otherwise that would not end well flen.

Out the cake mixture so that you’ve got a thin pink sponge and then bake this in the oven and when it’s all done and cooled we’re going to cut out our heart shapes now I found this heart cutter in the supermarket but it wasn’t quite hearty enough for me like I just found when I cut out the hearts I thought they were going to look more like blobs so to.

Just finish them off nicely I just cut out the sort of vshape of the heart a little bit with a knif so you can see it’s a more dominant heart shape and I just thought then it wouldn’t get so lost inside the chocolate cake I didn’t want it to just like a pink blob in the middle although that would look kind of funky so cut out as many hearts as you.

Need and make sure you keep the off Cuts because I’ll post a link in the description for my gluten-free cake pops which are amazing and the perfect way to use up any leftover gluten-free sponge and once you’ve done that it’s time to make the chocolate cake to put together our hidden heart cake so oh excuse the eggshell this is made in much the same.

Way as the other cake it’s pretty much exactly the same apart from instead of vanilla I’m adding in some cocoa powder to make it a rich chocolatey cake and the ground almond keep this nice and moist but if you need a nutree recipe you can just substitute it with the same amount of gluten-free flour don’t forget all the quantities are on my website and.

The link is in the description below so once you’ve sifted in the cocoa powder and added your dry ingredients we’re just going to mix this up exactly the same as we did with the last sponge and while you’re doing this make sure you’re preheating your oven add in some milk just to give it a nice consistency again because gluten-free flour always needs a.

Bit of extra hydration it’s quite a dry flour and again got my cake pegs handy this time we’re going to use a loaf tin so to construct your heart cake this is where the magic happens start off by placing a bit of butter in the bottom and spread it out so it covers the whole bottom layer of the loaf tin and once you’ve done this we’re going to place.

Our hearts in and we’re going to place them upright and kind of stick them into the cake batter and once you’ve got a few in there they’ll start to hold each other up now I like to leave a little Gap at either end so that I can just put a little bit of the chocolate cake patter it down the side and that way no one’s going to have a sneaky peek of the.

Hearts when they see the cake from the outside they’ll have no IDE idea what’s inside when they cut into it and again if you’ve got any hearts left over you can use these for my cake pops or you can just eat them while you’re waiting for the cake to bake and then this is the most fiddly bit but honestly it’s pretty easy you just got to use a spoon.

And sometimes you use a small palette knife to really get that cake butter around the sides of the hearts make sure there’s no gaps give your cake tin a tap or two on the work toop as well to make sure there’s no bubbles because we don’t want to kind of have a big gap which is going to make our cake sink and once it’s completely filled in spoon in the.

Rest of the butter smooth out the top and then bake this in the oven it takes about an hour but it’s honestly worth it because when it cools down we’re going to smother it in rich chocolate fudge frosting and again the recipe for this is on my website and then I’m just going to finish it off with some cute heart sprinkles and again not all sprinkles.

Are gluten-free so make sure you find some that are these are some old ones I had but there’s plenty on Amazon and I’ll link them below as well and then slice into the cake when it’s cooled to surprise your loved ones they’re going to absolutely love this Ree re and they’re going to think you are a genius full details in the caption and hit.
